high_stick69 7 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 So this guy is 6'5" and 225lbs? Can he skate? or handle the puck? Who is this guy and what is his story? Anyone who will threaten to keep a place on the roster? Let's hope he cracks some skulls and makes the front of the Wings net a very very unfriendly place to be! :punch:

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 Hopefully Ericsson is as tough in the NHL as he seems to indicate in the AHL. He looks like he could be that physical defenseman the Wings have lacked for so long. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do up in the NHL. I hope he is physical, and fights, as he'd make a great replacement of Lilja.
Izzy24 44 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 He should've taken his gloves of sooner. Also, #24 on the Blackhawks? Was he fighting Probert?

hockey&beer 16 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 If you check out his info on RedWingsCentral all of the scouts/coaches are pretty pumped about this guy. I have caught the Griffs a couple of times this season and he seems to be the real deal.

high_stick69 7 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 Oh hell yeah! Seems like the guy has a much needed mean streak. I thought we might see some of that in the Wings/ Avs game. We really need some of that passion/controlled hatred in our game.
HudlerRULES 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 OMG i hope the first thing Erriccson does is get in a fight. He beat the crap out of that guy LOL. Very big of 2 guys to go after one of ours but Erriccson was having none of it.
HudlerRULES 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 Any danger of waivers or is he still safe? Well from what i have seen Ericsson is untouchable. He will not be traded any time because he is our top prospect.

I hope he is physical, and fights, as he'd make a great replacement of Lilja. God, Kp! What does Lilja have to do, ******* murder someone in a fight before you start respecting his fighting prowess? It's not his fault that no one has wanted to fight him ever since he fell on top of Chris Neil. Another reason for him not fighting in a while is that the last few teams we played scratched their top enforcers for small fish like Ott, Lapperierre, etc. He didn't want to spotpick against lesser fighters, that's all. skacore 2 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 Ericsson takes on Klein in a spirited bout after Ericsson rocked some guy with a hipcheck Ericsson wants no piece of Valabik as Quincey and LaVallee have a go
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 His fights are pathetic. Lilja wins fights without even having to throw punches, while this guy just grabs and holds on for dear life.
chrisdetroit 189 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 Im stoked to see him play in Vancouver on Sat OK everybody calm down. Yes he is big, but from what I have been able to find on the net he is a very raw talent. Kindl and Smith are both regarded as better but they are more offensive minded defenseman. I think that Babs is giving him a look because Babs was impressed with him during training camp. Don't expect too much from him yet. Just because he's big doesn't mean that he is ready for the NHL. There is more to hockey than being big. Also, I can't find anybody that lists him as more than 205. I'm not sure where the 250+ weight came from.
