dallas27 7 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 In this case, it makes the Vancouver fans look like crass idiots. Normally, the crowd razzes a goalie when he is bad and deserves it -- not when he's an AHL backup and is doing all he can with half a team in front of him. Howard is the only reason the score isn't worse. Vancouver fans suck. JMO. ** sorry, little bit of Mother Bear coming out there, protective of Jimmy in this disaster of a game. Poor kid. That may be the case but everyone is guilty of harassing the goalie at some point, no excuses. Howard can probably care less about them razzing him; over the last two weeks he has proved that he can, without a doubt, backstop this team.
russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 Forwards get paid to score, d-men don't. If there's a lack of scoring, the forwards should be blamed before the D. Kenny, Hossa. Do eet now. Oh I'm not saying that you are wrong. I'm just saying that a lot of Offense comes from those 2 and being without those 2 guys is a BIG reason scoring is down lately...I'm not saying the offense is doing its job... seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 The Wings are a bunch of ******* women. Their getting their asses kicked, yet just sit around and take it. Any other team in the league would be out looking for blood, but no, not the ******* ***** ass Red Wings. You really don't see that too often anymore, with the stupid last 5 minutes rule now. It's not nearly as common as it was even a couple seasons ago.

J-Swift 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 What an absolute mess tonight was. It's good to know the Wings can provide a rookie goaltender with one goal to work with in his two starts so far. And I bet those Canuck fans thought they were pretty cool chanting Howard's name. Our two remaining "veteran" defenceman looked like rookies tonight. Lebda and Lilja's inability to make very simple plays at the blueline essentially put this game away.
WingsDC2B 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 The young D looked alright... don't get me wrong... I don't expect them to be "All-Stars" in their first couple games.... but we need a propect D-man that can put the puck in the back of the net... that has been what has made Detroit so good for so long... the ability to score from ALL five positions. Our you guys are not a scoring threat.

Feldmarschall 9 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 Lackluster effort by our forwards, but the kids showed up and did a reasonable job playing defense, all things considered. Howard had a good show even if the stats won't agree. I thought Stafford was good too, he makes decisions at NHL speed. Quincey was great, very physical. Ericsson was solid also. The corps just gave up too many odd man breaks, but none of them got undressed one-on-one, which is promising. Massive thumbs down tonight for Sammy, Datsyuk, and Lebda. The three combined for more giveaways in this one game than I'd expect the team to earn in ten games. It is very sobering to see just how much of our team offense relies exclusively on Lidstrom and Rafalski.
awingsincebirth 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 Man, that new rule that they implemented at the beginning of the season is really gonna f*** us over...you know, the one where ONLY the month of February matters, and nothing else at all. This team will not win the Cup, because obviously this is the lineup that we will ice for the rest of the year, and the playoffs. No one will come back from injury, no one will come in at the deadline. Because of this ridiculous stretch, we are f***ed.... /sarcasm

mackel 767 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 remember when the wings were good? Here's a good question, why would anyone waive a "No Trade" to come to Detroit?? With the tailspin the team is in and the rash of injuries we've had... We are really in a weak position as far as being a desired desitination don't you think?
