This is the list of players they made available

Nikolai Khabibulin - 6.75 (ends 2009)

Martin Havlat - 6.00 (ends 2009)

Robert Lang - 4.00 (ends 2009)

Tuomo Ruutu - 1.875 (RFA)

Marty Lapointe - 2.40 (UFA)

Yanic Perrault - 1.50 (UFA)

Andrei Zyuzin - 1.40 (UFA)

Rene Bourque - 0.825 (RFA)

pretty impressive list I have to say and I would guess it is strictly about salary dumping and getting some prospects for future run.

What do you guys think? I think we could use guys like Ruutu and Lapointe. setting them up with Filp or Z would make our life much easier.

Do you see Hawks willing to deal with us? or How much do you think they will cost?

Ruutu is getting worse by the season. He has six goals and unless he could perform like he once did, we don't need him. Unless we get him DIRT cheap. I dont think we could use anyone from that list actually.

Ruutu! So then we'll have 2 Finns on the team (assuming we don't trade Flip)

haha that's exactly what I thought.

here is some of their stat this year

Ruutu - 60GP 6G 15A 21P

Lapointe - 52GP 3G 4A 7P

Havlat - 34GP 10G 17A 27P

Obviously Havlat contract ending when we need to resign Z makes sense for us. But He will probably have a heavy price tag. I'm thinking in line of Filp or Huds.

Thinking about it I think a draft pick and depth Defenseman will be more than enough to get any of Ruutu or Lapointe looking at their stat. and no, I don't think Lapointe is injured right now

Byfuglien would be more than welcome here, since he's been playing RW/D...if not RW then D when/if Lids, Raf, Kronner get injured.

Havlat, despite injury, still is respectable.

Borque, IDK

Lang- NO, LaPointe-YES.

This is outdated, but still worth noting...

Lapointe, Martin CHI (RW) 01/24/2008

Lapointe missed his fourth straight game on Tuesday - a 3-2 road loss to San Jose - with a bruised kidney, according to the Chicago Tribune. He is unsure how the injury happened. "I might have gotten hit. Every test so far has been negative, so that's a good sign. I wish I was better. I don't feel sick or anything like that. Some stuff has to clear up first before I'm going to be OK." Lapointe is not expected to return until after the All-Star break.

Ruutu. He's physical and scores. Havlat wants out of Chicago. I'd take him for cheap, but we won't get him for cheap. We wouldn't find much space for Bourque. Pass on him and the rest.

Lapointe is terrible and it's beyond me why any of you would want to give anything up for him. Probably it's nostalgia. So sorry, but this is not 1998.

That list is awful. There is nobody that sounds appealing in Chicago.

I honestly can't believe everyone is slobbering over Ruutu so much. This guy is quickly becoming a spent force. A serious knee injury has completely derailed his career. He was once the best player in the world outside of the NHL, but his knee injury has really ruined him. Has anyone even seen him play this season? He looks terrible. He's not the gritty, scoring forward he once was, so I don't know why anyone would want him.

The Lapointe rumor is starting to piss me off. I will hate Holland so much if he brings him in. The Wings don't need anymore washed up, former Wings here. Their already dancing on the faultline in bringing back McCarty, so why risk it and bring in another like Lapointe? Doesn't make sense to me.
