No suprise to me though. He's been slated for the chopping block for a little while now. I don't think Murray's the answer but he may be able to get the ship righted over there.

Murray isn't the answer. He's just the best option for now, bringing in someone new at this point of the season would be suicide.

Just finished reading through the article... It maybe just tsn, but being someone who knows little about him as a coach it sounds like I wouldn't have hired him in the first place. From what the article explains, he's done nothing but put teams into a decline.

No way! Sucks for him. This is definitely going to be a turning point in their season. Will they take off and rock the end of the season thereby shooting past us in the standings? Or will they implode and become the laughing stock of the league thereby shifting focus from Gary Bettman?

Or will they kind of remain the same and ruin my mental soap opera?

What's happening with the top teams that used to be so much superior to everyone in the league???

Anyways, never thought Paddock was a good coach but anytime you do this at this point in the year it is a gamble. However, I don't think you can ruin the team chemistry in Ottawa much more than what has been done already so I don't think it's a horrible move (although I'm not sure how good it is either).

This is dumb. I also think it is the sort of panic move that gives the lie to Ottawa's claim to being a Stanley Cup contender. No real contender is making emergency moves like this at this late a date.

i think i saw murray on tradecentre yesterday on the nhl network and someone asked him if paddock's job was safe ... his response was "as long as we're winning" ... so no real surprise ...

Joke team. Joke Organization.

:confused1: I don't know why you would say that?

It's been a downward spiral for the last month or two for that team. Emery missing practice, Heatley and Alfredssion going down with injuries, acquiring Commodore and Stillman. When Emery missed practice twice in a month everyone was pissed at him. Teammates kind of turned on him from what I can see. Emery has kind of rolled over and hasn't been the same goalie this year. They didn't put that top line together last night from what I saw and I couldn't figure out why. The trade with Carolina seems to have upset some team chemistry or something. Anyway you look at it, they just aren't clicking. Easier to fire one coach than 20some hockey players.
