Rice 42 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 Wow. If it's something serious this will probably go down as one of the worst trades ever. Maybe not the worst, but the unluckiest.
Opie 308 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 Damn you OP, I had the perfect thread title: Down goes Hossa, down goes Hossa!!!! Seriously though, this could really suck for the penguins!
Zetterberg is the man!! 0 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 They said he is in the locker room with his shin guard off and they are looking at his knee and he is definetely done for the night!! WOW that sucks.
DatsyukRules 0 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 It was a knee on knee collision and he was hobbling off the ice pretty badly. No word yet on the severity of the injury.
Opie 308 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 Sore right knee mild mcl situation whatever that means
DatsyukRules 0 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 grade 1 MCL sprain in the right knee is what i think they just said on TSN, "gone at least a week", but not too severe
Rice 42 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 Can they be sure it's a sprain without an MRI? God, that would just be horrible, horrible luck if it were a tear.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted February 29, 2008 This is unusual for Hossa. His playing style, like Nick's, is conducive to avoiding contact. Anyway, Havlat is also out.. AGAIN.
Duck Guy 86 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 wow that sucks. hopefully he is ok.
hardcoretom21 71 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 They can't be 100% SURE it's a first degree sprain without an MRI, but in Physical therapy there are knee ligament stress tests that we can do to test the laxity in the joint. We also test the "end-feel" to see whether the resistance felt is characteristic of a complete tear (called "empty end-feel, i.e. no resistance).
Saran 1 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 daymn that must suck for the penguins, on the up side depuis just scored.

SweWings 45 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 I still have doubts about the Penguins but I hope he gets back soon. Can't say I want them to win, but I'd rather make fun of them for failing with a healthy, full squad than an injury-destroyed one.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 Wow. If it's something serious this will probably go down as one of the worst trades ever. Maybe not the worst, but the unluckiest. Especially if he doesn't re-sign, but I wonder if he'll be tempted to re-sign just becacuse he'll feel guilty. I don't know much about his character, but that would be the right thing to do consdiering what they gave up for him.

Grim 5 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 wasn't Doug Gilmour final return to the Leafs also a classic deadline deal? if i'm not mistaken, he took like one shift and blew out his knee.
