haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 I'd have to see a clip, because I don't understand how this is physically possible. For someone to have gotten their gloves up in Pronger's face, it would mean Chris actually had his elbows down during a hit, and I don't know what that looks like. skacore 2 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 (edited) There were two incidents involving Pronger early in the game. He was wearing a jaw protector on his helmet. First, Bourque high-sticked Getzlaf and Pronger went to have words with him and Bourque just turned around and gave Pronger's jaw a gloved shot. Getzlaf got up and went after Bourque but they had linesmen between them. Second, Pronger hit Adams from behind and Eager came over and confronted Pronger, later in the play he shoved him again and that was enough for Randy to send out Parros. Eager was taking the puck behind the net and Parros took a huge charge at him and smoked him into the glass, then Parros offered Eager to square off but Eager obviously would not, a second later Parros dropped the gloves and filled in Eager with some overhands that hit nothing and some uppercuts that may have landed. On the Bourque play, that is a ***** move IMO because Bourque was first to engage in giving Pronger a gloved shot and Bourque isn't even a fighter. Getzlaf wanted to go with Bourque and that is fine. On the Eager play, Pronger and the Ducks can't expect a free ride when Pronger makes a dirty hit on Adams (somehow he got no penalty, should of been boarding). Eager did the right thing by confronting Pronger and Eager knew there would be payback from the Ducks. Parros going after Eager was also the right thing to do IMO, because you gotta respond if a guy goes after your captain, whether he deserved it or not. 7 minute powerplay, but it's easy to kill off those kind of penalties. It all worked it's way out, both teams did the right thing, but yeah Parros has no right to preach to the media about it Edited March 6, 2008 by skacore
Creasemonkey 30 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 He's played hockey long enough to know that pretty much every other player in the league hates him. He knew it was coming when he put the jersey on, so did all his teammates, and if his jaw is sore from eating too many of his teammates sausages, then perhaps he should stay home with his teddy bear and watch the game on TV. The day he retires, I will throw a party. And you are all invited.

Turkey 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Yes, clearly boarding. Ah well.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 LOL. Are the Ducks really talking about another team being classless? They are the epitome of classless. As far as I'm concerned, he had it coming. Oops..did I just say that?
wingnut40 176 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 I'm so proud for the Blackhawks. I thinks it funny how The F-#@s don't see anything wrong with doing stuff like that to other people, but the minute it happens to them they get pissed off. They don't like the taste of their own medicine.
Mors 201 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Hilarious...anyone on the ducks referring to anyone else as "Classless", wow...just wow.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 They have it coming to it. Eager got destroyed BTW, he had lots of chances to turn around and hit Parros but decided to turtle, blech. Pronger is a ******, dont come back with a visor on, hit Craig Adams HARD from behind and start s*** with Patrick Sharp if your afraid of getting hurt. Cry me a river. Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted March 7, 2008 If Pronger can't take the heat he needs to get out of the kitchen. Otherwise he's expected to play like a nhl player should. This is hockey, Pronger, not tennis, and no special rules are made for your sensitivities and needs.
RoninJai 5 Report post Posted March 7, 2008 I'm surprised the amount of hypocrisy in that statement didn't actually explode and kill the entire Ducks team. What a tool. "Hey, it's ok if I try to kill someone by slamming their head into the boards at full speed, but I'll be damned if they should be allowed to punch my teammate in his sore jaw." tommingthepuck96 1 Report post Posted March 7, 2008 (edited) Parros is probably the stupidest enforcer in the nhl. I laughed at him when he used his 30 seconds of ice time to give his team 7 minutes of penalty kill time. Boo hoo, pronger hits people in the head with his elbow and uses his stick like a weapon. I think he can handle at little jab too the chin. Edited March 7, 2008 by tommingthepuck96
Aeothe Kaear 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2008 If Pronger is healthy enough to board a guy (and get away with it), he's healthy enough for someone to do whatever the F they want to his jaw in return, IMO.

This is hockey, Pronger, not tennis, and no special rules are made for your sensitivities and needs. No lie. While I think many in here go incredibly off the deep end sometimes when they talk about Pronger, I don't think that he understands that he's done enough in this league (not intentionally so much and he doesn't necessarily have a bulls eye on him 24-7) to where people are going to want to get under his skin. #19=Legend 29 Report post Posted March 7, 2008 Kudos to the Hawks. I hate Chris Pronger with a passion. And i might sound classless, but he would be the first one to do it to someone else. I wish he had punched him in the jaw and messed it up even more. After what he did to Homer in the playoffs, ive wished someone would do what Stevie Y did. #19forPresident! 1 Report post Posted March 7, 2008 If Pronger's jaw is that vounerable then he should not be playing. Oh Pronger's jaw is vulnerable alright, just ask Brian Burke about their special time in his office after practice, it would explain all the "long skate tonight honey, I'll be late so don't wait up" incidents to his wife, and that gap in his teeth.
