Campbell is wrong. They were in the same context. Both players were hacked off and both retaliated by stomping another player.

I have a newly found respect for Chris Simon. It took a lot of courage for Simon to say what he said, for the record. He knowa the next time he does something that reqiuires a review by the NHL, they are going to screw him royal.

It will be very interesting to see if the Refs are out to get hom [when he returns], just to get pats on the back from the NHL.

Kudos to all the fans and media who voiced there objections st first, to the initial no foul, no suspension by the NHL and now secondlly the glossing over and a tap on the wrist suspension to Pronger.

If certain players can't respect each other through common sense, then the NHL needs to step in with stiff suspensions.

I have a feeling that Simon's next suspendable action, no matter how small, will get him a ridiculously long suspension. I just feel that the NHL is that petty and bitter about players speaking out against them.

It shows you just how screwed up Colin Campbell is when Chris Simon is the voice of reason.

I could have said a million things here, but this sums up exactly how I feel.

While Chris Simon is spot on with his disappointment, I don't know if this would matter much or not but his choice of words didn't help the matter. Specifically saying that he didn't get treated fairly, like he is the victim in this whole ordeal. I think more progress/awareness to higher ups would've been made if he said that no matter who the player is, such an act of what he/Pronger did should have a very, very strong consequence, but this is just one dork's opinion. If I was Simon, I'd definitely consider filing a lawsuit about unfair treatment though. I don't care how bad or "intentional" his stomp might have been over Pronger's (or not perhaps), you don't just step on somebody. That is as low as it gets.

I think it was a poor choice of words on Simon's part SWF. But I do kinda see a point that he was trying to make though. With what the stars can get away with or with less punishment (and not just Pronger) it does kinda make the role players and others seem to be victims because of the special treatment the stars may or may not receive.

Have Gaborik and Pronger go in a corner together, and have Gaborik take a tripping penalty, and then Simon in for the stomp on Pronger. As he stands over Pronger "I am the head mf'ing stomper around here, *****!"

wouldnt it be just glorious if simon came back and his next suspension was injuring pronger so hes out for the season... and yes, i do hate him enough to wish harm on him... and i dont care what any one thinks about it.

Not that I would expect either to perform such an act... but I highly doubt either of them would even get suspended by this ruleset.

I guess at some level Simon has a right to be miffed, but I wouldn't be surprised to see either of them show up as repeat offenders. That's when the hammer really ought to be dropped, but I tend to believe that Pronger will get more slack than Simon. Burke is definitely part of this equation, and it makes me dislike him even more than I already did.

i agree...seeing them play in a series would certainly be interesting. i have no personal hatred for chris simon as i've never seen him do anything to one of our guys...i've only seen the relplays of him doing s*** to players i'm not personally attached to. i do think he's right, though. if there had only been two games left in the regular seasons, pronger's suspension probably would have only been for one game.
