I'll agree with you, Hasek was waaaaayyy to deep in his net today. I'd like to see him come out a little more. At times his angles were off as well. Those are the two reasons for the 2nd and 3rd goals.

Yeah, tell me about it. I love RRP2 as a goal song (and I'm glad the Wings started playing it this year), but the Predators fans completely ruin it with that "You suck!" chant at the end. It's so lame.

I don't live here either, but I have family here and have been to 9 games and he is right on the money about the fans. Never been to a game w/ so many rude fans that half of them don't know what's even going on.

I was at the game last night, and as usual, the Predator fans do all the SUCK chants which are stupid. Im wondering if Red FX is really a Predator fan instead of Wings. There was a family behind me, with a son and daughter, the boy was 6, the daughter 5.... They were chanting "CHELIOS SUCKS BIG ONES" well they learned it because others in the section were doing it. They were still chanting all that crap when they were losing. After the game their radio guys assessment of the game was comical, the Wings had all the penalty calls, and the Preds were screwed. First period was all Predator power play, and they had another goal which was a power play. I also heard how my Wings were "CHEAP SONS UH B**CHES" and how they cheat and choke in the playoffs, blah blah blah. They don't want to notice that Tootoo doesn't start his stuff when Downey is on the ice, and for the large majority of their fans, they don't watch other teams play and really don't know the league. If Tootoo fights someone who normally doesn't well thats hockey....If someone tries to take up for their teammates that is bigger than Tootoo, then its just someone being a bully. Oh Yeah and don't forget that Webers better...... Im not generalizing the fans as a whole, because there are some good ones in Nashville, but for the most part they don't know the sport.

Not like it concerns you or anything, but I'm a Wings fan first and foremost. I was born in Ypsi and was raised by die hard Wings fans. I live in Franklin now (since I was 8) and two years later the Preds came to town. And yeah, I do cheer for the Preds (when they don't play us), And just to avoid any confucion, no I don't like all the you suck chants and Chelios is a Sissy. I think they're stupid, which is why I don't do them. And when they started the Red Wings Suck chant, I responded with the We're In First chant.

I don't like people generalizing that all people and fans here are cheap and classless, because the large majority are not. I've played hockey here all through high school, and as a result I've been able to meet alot of great hockey fans, people that know and respect. And alot of fans are like me, and they hate those chants to. Like I've said a million times before, every fanbase has their classless bunch. I don't like people attacking an entire fanbase based on a select group of their fans. It could be aimed at Nashville or Anaheim or Tampa Bay or Djurgarden and I would still say something about it. Pistons fans brawled with the Pacers, but that doesn't mean all their fans are thugs.

6-3. We won. And we have more to worry about than what people's fans say during games. I say take a page out of the players. Who cares? Play the game and ignore it. Chants don't win games. Unless you truly are starting to believe that the Red Wings suck or Chelios is a sissy, let it go.

The only thing I want to point out is, does anyone know what the whole Joe was chanting after that SJ Goal off the net a few games back...? They were ALL chanting "Bull Sh*t" for a good minute, minute and a half. Pretty sure that more than just two children were affected by that. So before we criticize the fans on something that we did that was much much much worst, let's consider things first.

But as a whole, i do have a funny story about Pred Fans. My Uncle bought season tickets the first season they were a franchise and he has been to many many many Pred games and he has this uber expensive Leather Predator jacket and I always ask him who his favorite player is, and he always responds with Yzerman. Then I ask him who his favorite Predator is, and he always says, "the one who scores that game" haha :rolleyes:

Dude I hate to say it, but those generalizations are there because they are generally the perception of Nashville. It's not made up stuff. That's what the rest of us see when we watch Nashville fans. That's what I see, and that's what the poster you were replying to see. We aren't just making this up.

I watched the game on HDnet and they pick up a lot more stadium noise than most channels. Hearing some of the drunken hillbillies do nothing more than shout for blood really irritates me. They show them on the screen too with a big ass 32 oz beer, a shotgun handle mustache (I think I just made that up, but it sounds redneck appropriate), a beer belly that would make Santa Claus jealous, staggering drunk and yelling at the ice when someone runs into the boards and makes a loud noise even though they didn't actually check anyone. Loud noises impress these guys. That's just one example. But then you see one more example. 5 examples, 10 examples.

You've got the Tootoo whistles. You've got the Tootoo cross checks to the face. I counted two, one on sammy and a failed one Kronwall. You've got the dirty plays. You've got the players trying to fight players who don't want to fight. That was hilarious when Lilja had a player that was trying to go with him. He just strong armed him into place and was ******* with him, smiling, raising his eyebrows, just laughing at the guy for wanting to fight Lilja, like it'd be a waste of his time. You've got Hanhous (sp?) punching zetterberg, a STAR FORWARD for zero reason. You've got the fans who have the worst chants I've ever heard, yelling out negative s*** for the other team instead of positive stuff for their own team. What's with the you suck shouts when they are getting beat. It doesn't even make sense to shout HASEK YOU SUCK after the makes a great play. The only time it would have made sense to make fun of anybody, would have been Maltby, and by then what good would it have done being down 5-3.

It's just classless. This kind of player and fan activitiy may be prevelant in other sports, but not in hockey. That's why we like hockey so much. In my opinion it's the only true sport left with class and poise. But teams like the Preds and the Ducks want to ruin that.

Very ignorant and simple minded; ignorant in the way they chant for blood and injury, and simple minded as in they only chant YOU SUCK! or RED WINGS SUCK!! Wow so original... I think it is pretty funny to listen to them sitting around saying stuff like What happened? What is Icing? Why did we not get a power play when our player dived down and didn't sell it good enough? It got ridiculous... Also when they score a goal they sing "I LIKE IT, I LOVE IT, I WANT SOME MORE OF IT!!!" And don't get me started about Tootoo whistles... lol

Needless to say I was ragging and making fun of them all night in section 222. I hate country music, so every time Detroit scored I was yelling YEAH BABY!!!! THIS IS DETROIT ROCK CITY!!! I thought Hasek and Mason were gonna fight for a minute at the end of the 2nd period!!! Mason threw the puck down ice during a scrum at his net and Hasek just stood there near the blue line and didn't even move his stick but stopped the puck with it and stared down Mason.... I was like no DOM!!!! Don't hurt your hip again!! Then Downey and Drake both confronted Tootoo but of course Tootoo backed down from a REAL FIGHT/Challenge.

2 minutes left in the game Preds fans started leaving and I was yelling"Where you gusy going? Stay and watch it, your team might score a goal!" Then i was like "Good Game guys! Good game!" So when we were leaving the game, me in my White Wings jersey chanting and yelling all the way out the door phrases like "Red Wings SUCK!!!!" over and over and I started singing "I like it, I love it, I want some more of it!" hahaha Doing my little moonwalk dance and my robot dance lol

Once Chris Chelios scored a goal I knew that this game was our to win, it was DESTINY!!!!!

Is it me or is Pavel Datsyuk starting to think and see the game alot more clearly, like a young "Igor Larionov"? This kid amazes me every game.

Franzen impressed me alot last night crashing towards the net, strong smart play.

Nobody here has said they all act like idiots, (we'll settle for the majority) and the people youre around with your HS Hockey (BTW, are you playing in that Preds Cup on Sat?) aren't the idiots who we speak of in the stands. Remember there are many who moved to Nashville from Michigan for the Saturn plant (The timeframe you mention, that might be your situation) There are too many examples from too many visiting fans for the events described to be fabricated that many of the Pred Fans are bungholes. You taking up for them was the reason why I said Pred FX.

Nah I graduated last year. We've been in the Preds Cup tournament a few times, but never made it to the finals (which is the game held at Sommet). Our school actually won in 2000, but that was before my time.

And I wasn't trying to defend those types of fans (if it came off that way I'm sorry). Like I said before, I hate those chants, and I always get a kick when we shut them up. I was just getting upset because alot of people were referring to the fan base as a whole, rather than those select individuals.
