betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted March 22, 2008 Nobody in particular. If I had to pick one team only it'd be UNC - always liked the Heels, and gotta pull for the ACC. Also always liked Kansas. If Purdue were to somehow make a run as a 6 seed, that'd be pretty sweet, but I'm not counting on it. I'm mainly just happy that of the top 12 teams, there's only one that I really don't like. (Tennessee. Don't much care for Wisconsin, either, but I'm not averse to pulling for them for the Big Ten's sake.) Long and short of it is, whoever wins, I'll probably be happy about it. Not like last year when Florida and OSU were #1 seeds and met for the title. Of course, UVA was in last year's tournament too, so that was, y'know, nice. The Bruins seem to have destiny on their side with so many close-calls and breaks going their way this season. Plus they are a treat to watch on the floor. Collison, Westbrook, Love, Shipp, Mbah a Moute are all special players in their own regard. Multiple offensive weapons, and a very sound defensive team as a whole. Not to mention, most of the guys on the team have tourney experience from the previous two years. The West Region, on paper, should be relatively easy for UCLA to get through to the Final Four. Louisville over Tennessee (hate UT.) Kansas over Villanova Memphis over MSU (when it comes to basketball, many MSU fans have become exactly what they hate about U-M fans.) I say this as of about halfway through the first half of the Kansas-Villanova game, so I'll probably jinx it all to hell so 'Nova pulls the upset. Even that wouldn't be too bad. I'm tied for third, but I'm the only one who picked UNC for the title, so Kansas losing would hurt my Final Four but hurt everyone else quite a bit more. It basically shakes out, that if UNC wins it all, so do I. Yay! Go Heels! They've been monstrous so far. Absolutely crushing the competition. I feel pretty good about this. Similar to UM fans, thinking that National Championships earned during a time when they played high schools are somehow relavant today? But seriously, I do agree with you.
