Just spoke to Comcast. Of course they are having "technical difficulties" trying to get the game on 900 or 901, and will have the game on one of those channels as soon as possible. (Couldn't give a general idea) They also told me the game would be replayed at 11:00 pm on channel 39, so that doesn't sound good.

just told me the same thing,i doubt they will have it fixed b4 its over

How do you use VLC?

It is all explained here: http://www.myp2pforum.eu/nhl/17408-hockey-...-streaming.html

If you are to lazy to search: Start the Sopcast Stream, open VLC-Player, go to Open Network Stream, select "HTTP" option, and type in 127.0.0.1:8902. Let Sopcast run and whatch the stream via VLC

I missed the first period...

Are our boys playing well?

Becuase the games not on FSN Detroit, I have to watch it on FSN Ohio and the reporter is saying the the Columbus coach isn't allowing them interviews.. Does that mean the BJ's are playing like s***?

Something to that effect; for once the calls are also not going against us. Our guys are taking advantage of both facts and it's been fun to watch...

Edit: Can't write

Ugh, I actually feel bad for Comcast right now. I don't get why people don't assume that other people have been and are calling... I'd get so tired of answering the same question over and over.

That's what they get for being incompetent. And it's not like 1 person can just call then spread the word to everyone else.

Yeah I feel REAL bad for them. It's called getting paid to do your job, and having the game on when and where they said in the first place.

So on the FSN Ohio network I'm waiting for highlights.. and they even said they were going to show highlights..

but it didn't really seem like highlights to me because the only thing they showed was what Columbus could've done better.

In conclusion:

FSN Detroit IS the best network.

I have Charter and FSN+ is channel 76 for me, but the sound/video quality is horrible! It's all staticky and dim. Sopcast isn't any better, so I don't know which to choose. I have Sopcast running right now and it seems like it's streaming from the Columbus side...yuck!

Yeah, pretty much. I've been ticked off for the last two years because I don't get FSN Detroit in college, but I do get FSN Ohio...every once in a blue moon (i.e. today) I'm actually glad I have it.

It really sucks though.

I don't feel the least bit of sympathy for cable companies, Comcast or Time Warner. I have spent the season fighting TWC in Austin to either deliver the programming I paid for (NHL Center Ice) or refund my money for the games Buttman stole from me. TWC refuses to broadcast NHL Network (not that I would pay them MORE money on top of digital cable and NHL CI, anyway).

Point being, they say "We can't help it, we're just the conduit for the broadcasts." Hey, I pay the big, fat BILL to you, Time Warner. You are responsible for knowing what is going on and doing something about it when your customer (i.e., me!) is being screwed in terms of product not being delivered. Time Warner has more money than the NHL. They could do something about it. They just don't want to.

Sorry, Comcast sufferers. We Center Ice peeps with stolen games know how you feel. March 28th is another stolen game, for those who are affected by the NHL's thievery.

http://www.videolan.org/

Download it there. Once you have it installed, and the SopCast feed open and running, choose "Open Network Stream" in VLC. Select the HTTP option and put "127.0.0.1:8902" in the box. If 8902 doesn't work, try 8912.

vlc is a downloadable media player. it is free.

there is an faq on how to use the vlc player w/ sopcast. i would recommend it. works pretty well.

Thanks all you guys. I got it up and going.

Not to sound greedy, but does anyone have a Detroit feed???

for anyone trying to use sopcast, after you get the vlc player opened and entered the http address pause the wmp that sopcasts uses, it seems to keep the feed running smoother. Also anybody still having trouble getting the vlc player open should remember that if you click the button that looks like to windows, second button to the left of the play button, it will open the vlc player. Obviously it needs to be installed prior. Hope this helps someone. go wings
