HenrikRules40 14 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 Just got home from the game. I had a blast! I cheered so loud my throat is bleeding. Some observations... 1. Henrik Zetterberg is no joke. His focus and intensity are second to none. And he takes no shortcuts. He was our best player tonight. 2. Dom was solid for the most part. I wish he'd keep his stick on the ice. But he didn't make me nervous. 3. Mac should have punched Tootoo out. I hate that punk. 4. Mule is a beast. MULE IS A BEAST! 5. The refs were brutal! At various times throughout the night I thought I was going crazy because refs didn't call it one way but did the other way. Whatever, we won. Suck it stripes! 6. We didn't play the best but we didn't panic at any point. We're so calm. I love it. 7. Aaron Downey is my new best friend. 8. Oh and I got to meet a bunch of LGWers. You're real! That was cool. We outplayed them, we deserved the win, Ellis was nashville's best players because if he wasnt this game would be done in the 2nd. Z was awesome, Franzen continues his play into the post season, Hasek did what he needed to do. All around a great performance and win. I'll be at game 2. But Regarding your Tootoo point: In typical fashion, he never started jawing at Mac until the linesmen got in between the two of him. He never really had a good opportunity to go after him. It was a great game for everyone. Can't wait for Saturday! As much as everyone up there hates Tootoo, did it make you mad when he was the only one who scored for the Preds? Must Kill 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 i had to work tonight so i snuck home all ninja like turned off my cells, and watched the game on the dvr. I must say we played a great game, and well preds no suprise the came on hitting and playing "dirty" . I was kinda disappointed in parts where we didnt go for the big hits then mr kronner made me leave me seat with happyness and part anger that he ended the powerplay. Anyways we still got the win and cant wait for game 2 even tho ill only get so see the first half damn work calling again but i did schedule off so i can watch game 3. We had a much better turn out then game 1 of last season and the atmosphere was insane...so I was really happy about that. Just wanted to say a few things about the game: -Zetterberg was absoultey amazing -Rafalski...definitely not his best game -Kronner's hit=beautiful -I hate Tootoo almost as much as I hate Pronger Pretty much can't wait until Saturday and I wish I could go to every game Go Wings!! He could have had a couple good scoring chances if not for mishandling the puck. In any case, he still showed a great effort, as did the rest of the team. But seriously it looks like he needs to relax a bit more. And after last nights performance he shouldn't be on the top 2 lines. Our top six forwards should be: Zetts, Dats, Homer, Franzen, Cleary, <anyone but Filp and Sammy>. Not to drag up old news, but I can't help but think Fedorov wouldn't have been a better option than McCarty, Hartigan or even Sammy. Our top 2 lines could have been: Franzen-Zetts-Fedorov Cleary-Dats-Homer or Dats-Zetts-Homer Franzen-Fedorov-Cleary Not too shabby. But anyway. I thought last nights game wasn't bad but the Wings didn't look half as physical as they did in last years playoffs. I hope they can find a way to crank it up for game 2. If he got a shut out, someone would have piped up and said it was "easy" and he didn't have to do anything to earn it. So it goes... Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 First off, the crowd was freaking AMAZING tonight! SOOOO FREAKING LOUD! The Wings chants were non stop. When Hank scored the first time the place went crazy! It was so great to be there. Please tell me they showed the GO WINGS GO chant during the game? Half the arena was saying Go and the other half was saying Wings. It was fantabulous and so much fun. LOL Yes, it came through loud and clear! I was glad to see this cheer revived. One of my favorite JLA crowd moments was in the last minute of regulation of game 7 against St. Louis in 1996. The Wings had an offensive zone faceoff and the crowd got this chant going. I rewatched this game a year ago (on the A Celebration of Champions dvd) and this moment still gave me chills, even though I knew the game went on for another two periods. Very cool. And very intimidating for the other team for sure. HockeyCrazy3033--are you going to game 2? If so, you should help revive something else I miss at the Joe: rhythmic clapping!
