Nev 1,085 Report post Posted April 10, 2008 From the Freep He also brings a maturity that McPhee certainly noticed. As the Capitals left the ice following Saturday’s regular-season finale, the GM waited to greet each player with a handshake and message of “Congratulations.” Nearly every single player nodded in appreciation and headed to the locker room. And Fedorov? “He’s the one guy who stopped and said, ’Congratulations to you, George. Good for you,’” McPhee said. “And that’s an older veteran guy that’s won Cups, and you wonder, ’Does he have that character because they won Cups? Or has he won Cups because he had that character?’ I don’t know what comes first, but he’s sure got it.” Lets hope we meet the Caps in the finals so we can boo him again, eh? LeftWinger 5,151 Report post Posted April 10, 2008 From the Freep Lets hope we meet the Caps in the finals so we can boo him again, eh? ...uh, yeah... ...boo him, hate him, he sucks, he's old, he's washed up. Oh wait, he's still better than over half the current Red Wings. This thread is useless, I hope they play Washington so Fedorov can light up the Wings every chance he gets! arpawocky 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2008 Fedorov is self-centred But he can also play wing or defense if needed.

Opie 308 Report post Posted April 10, 2008 Because he did that so often as a Blue Jacket. Right and if he had done it with the Jackets, like people seem to think he still can, they would have made the playoffs. If he is this good for a prolonged period of time after leaving the Jackets, putting up points leading a young(er team than Col) team, being an all around guy. Than I call shenanigans. That proves that he dogs it when he wants and then he goes out and tears it up when he feels like it. That is not to say that is WAS has success he was dogging, but if he tears it up these playoffs and next year, just because he feels he is on a better team just goes to prove the selfish theory. ON THE OTHER HAND: If he continues the pace he has set the last couple of years, is a mentor to AO (who seems more willing to listen than Nash ever did) or someone on another team (he is a UFA) than I will be on here saying I was wrong about him. But I want to see it from him for more than a month and a half before I believe it.

Now that is a Feds statement that I can agree on, he is a tremendously gifted athlete, he is one of those guys who you look at and see a natural ability and athleticism that makes you think he could have been a pro at a lot of sports! FedorovGurl 2 Report post Posted April 10, 2008 Always admired Fedorov and I always will. What he has done on the ice speaks for itself. I would have been thrilled to have him back in the red and white, but I am happy that he seems to have found his comfort zone in Washington. He is an UFA this summer so ...... one can always dream? Sergeiwasmyfav 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2008 How are some people still not understanding that this was sarcasm, as someone else pointed out. The point was that yeah, everyone here in Detroit says he is so self-centered, but then look at this, he was the only player to think about someone other than himself after being congratulated by the GM. The GM of the Caps said that he thought this really showed Feds' character and class. The sarcasm really loses its effect when it has to be spelled out, but I enjoyed it. stactum 4 Report post Posted April 10, 2008 (edited) It's been discussed a thousand times but once again, here is Fedorov's latest interview for Soviet Sport newspaper, and it's pretty good, he kind of saying that playing for Anaheim and Columbus is pretty much wasted time of his career. Here is another interesting question and answer about Detroit: - So if it would be possible to go back in time and give you a chance to stay in Detroit accepting worse contract conditions, would you take it? - Anahaim actually gave me less money then Detroit, but it was 5 year deal. I always said that Detroit was my team and I wanted to stay there. part 1 (russian content) part 2 (russian content) Edited April 10, 2008 by stactum
