TOC-roach. Far From it. That's the other PLT. I'm Como and work at a site were we are the main target for mortar and rocket attacks. Working on that site is only one of our tasks. That site has the hookup of creature comforts. The last time I checked the people that work in the TOC never ran convoys let alone was a gunner on them. So the right term for me and my people here would be POGS not fobits. You going to see me in 9 months? lol Are you 4ID? I'm finishing out my 15 month tour here

1st Cav, actually.

Only been the gunner once, but been on plenty of missions. But I'm still a FOBbit. I don't go out every damn day.

Keep your head down.

Hearing the commentary from NBC it does seem slanted in Nashville's favor. I bet if we asked Predators fans though, they'd say it seems slanted in Detroit's favor. Very rarely can national-based talking heads win.

that's right. before the game started and then through periods 1 and 2

Pierre and Emrick were ass-licking Preds like crazy. then, seeing how

Wings are beating Nashville they jumped the bandwagon and started

sticking their noses into Wings fans brown holes.

so yes, fans of both teams can see dumb commentary. and both sides

are right

doc emrick annoys me. why?

grab a few beers and take a normal sized drink everytime he says "drive!" and a big one every time he says "big drive!" and you will be tanked by first intermission.

Yep, there's only so many times I can hear the words "drive" and "waffleboard" during a game.

Do like i do, hit mute, put on some music and enjoy. I learned something a long time ago.... I dont give a f**k what most commentators say, because 99% is either stuff they pulled out of their ass or is a useless stat that has no bearing on anything.

1. FSN (without Larry M.)

2. Versus

3. NBC

--- The guys on NBC make my skin crawl and not in a good way.....

I agree 100% with everything you just said. I absolutely hate NBC broadcasts.

"Now lets see that save again, sponsored by Edge shaving cream." "Now lets look at some hammers thrown by ***-too sponsored by Summer's Eve ******"

All I can say is, bring ESPN back. Please?

Levy was good and so were Thorne and Clement. I don't want the NHL back on ESPN though.

The League went with a new network. One that caters more to the League's liking. Versus, then OLN, offered more money than ESPN, if it even did. I can't remember now and would have to do some research. Research I've done numerous times, each time I read fans advocating the League go back to ESPN. By the way, three ESPN employees, Colin Cowherd, Mike Greenberg and president George Bodenheimer, routinely ridicule the NHL. Many more of its employees do too. This obviously starts from the top and continues all the way down. The company's employees make it a very harsh environment for the NHL. Given that, it doesn't make sense to me why the League would want ESPN to broadcast it's games. Sure ESPN is in more homes, but that isn't good enough. It has to be willing to show games and showcase the League in other ways, which it didn't. A classic example of this but in another sport is the IRL on ESPN. That should be a symbiotic relationship, but I bet it isn't in IRL's view. I know it isn't to IRL fan and writer Robin Miller. I heard him the other day with JMV on WNDE that during a recent SportsCenter the talking heads spent all of 44 seconds mentioning Graham Rahal's win. The talking heads then went back to NFL coverage. IRL is in season now, the NFL is not. This is a classic example and there are many others of how ESPN treats leagues it doesn't like or favor. This is the same way the ESPN treats the NHL now and when it broadcasted NHL games. Add to all this ESPN would rather showcase its own talking heads and make them celebrities, than cover sports in a meaningful way, there is absolutely NO reason for the NHL to go back to ESPN.

Are NHL fans the only ones who gripe about which network covers their sport?

Game is on? Then the game is on.

Watch. the. game.

See the players? See them skating around on the rink? Perfect.

If only it were that simple to many people in here. It's not that hard to me.

It's still hockey in the grand scheme of things and I'm damned glad it is at least broadcasted nationally.

Some could not have Versus. Some could only have maybe just a handful of broadcasts on NBC for the regular season and

playoffs.

Be thankful for what you have. You are watching hockey, just enjoy it and forget about all the other outside/broadcasting crap.
