What the hell man? It sounds to me like Drew didn't watch that goal. I mean some goals, unless the goalie just knows that's what is going to happen and react way early, are not going to stop it. That was a bang bang play right in front of the net, up into the top of the corner. Are you telling me Any goalie in this league would stop that? Drew Sharp is a jackass, man. Even if Hasek would have allowed that goal, I think we'd all be saying it was not his fault. There's no way Ozzy could have covered the post effectively and then gotten to the opposite top corner that quickly. How can he say people are "excusing" Osgood, with a win and a 20/21 save outing? Some shots the goalie just has little/no chance on. Nashville executed the empty net sequence of plays pretty flawlessly. Give them credit when it is due. Sometimes, I dont even read what he says, I just skip to the comments section, to see what everyone up there is really thinking. He's such a negative nancy. And aside from that he's not found anything else negative to write about the Wings, hence only 2 articles. The last one I can remember him doing before that was on the CuJo/Hasek thing. He expected the Wings to lose to the Duckies in round 2 but since the Duckies probably are going to go out, he expects the WIngs to lose to SJ in the conference finals. I guess he had to revise his prediction about how the Duckies were so great when they are on the verge of going out in the first round. 2. The Tigers will finish below .500. 3. The Pistons will be swept in the first round. I'm not making this up. He actually said all 3 of these things in the period of 2 minutes. Obviously the man is an idoit. I would've loved to see a save and a big part of me says "make that save" with less than a minute left up 1-0. But you look at the play and the rest of the game and you can't get too pissed about it. Round 2 could be Calgary (3-1-0), Colorado (4-0-0), or Dallas (3-1-0). I like the odds against any of them. Going with the rest of the bracket, Detroit's 2-2-0 against Anaheim, 3-0-1 against Minnesota and 2-1-0 against San Jose. At LEAST 0.500 against anybody left, and over 0.500 for the three teams currently leading in their series. I like round 2 to be over faster than round 1. The Tigers have too much firepower to finish below 0.500. I can see them finishing right around there unless they make some changes, but still over 0.500. As for the Pistons... swept by the 76ers? Yes, and it's a smart radio decision because people get stirred up by it. I was listening on my way home as well and he was going off about all his predictions and it was just blatantly obvious that he was stirring the pot/being excessively negative, but you've gotta stop and realize that that's his job. Pistons swept in first round and Tigers below .500??? I mean, sure, piss and moan about what he said about Osgood, but those other two comments deserve far more of a reaction. Ozzie was solid as hell last night. He had no chance on that goal. I'd like to see any other goalie in that situation and see how they would fair. Then again, Drew wrote that it was wrong of Babs to start Ozzie prior Game 5 so maybe he's trying to make himself feel better because he looks like a complete ass for writing that now.
