Wingfan191 2 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 (edited) Who in the world would demand that Hasek start in round 2!?? I don't think it needs to be said that we'll be riding Ozzie until he falters, then it'll switch back to Dom, who by then could be back on his game for all we know. Just enjoy the moment and hope we don't run into any rough spots. Edited April 20, 2008 by Wingfan191
Outsider 42 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 I predict Ozzie will start the next round... and that there will be 47 more threads started on this subject. And I predict that if it were Hasek in nets, 46 of the 47 would have been started by YOU.
Osgood=WIN! 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 What was Kelly Hrudey saying?? Osgood is a winning MACHINE!!
gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 You can't ask for anything better from Osgood since he's gotten the call. That's the bottom line. That said, he'll have to keep it up and keep upping the ante moving forward b/c we're going to face tougher teams, but hopefully he and the rest of the team does just that and we keep this thing going. It's great to win the series and you can't critique Osgood's game negatively whatsoever, but the team just has to keep moving forward and upping their game. It's go time. Rice 42 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Yeah, Babcock just said in an NBC interview that Osgood's starting Game 1. Osgood has been extremely solid...he's totally relaxed.
gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 (edited) From NBC's post-game interview with Babcock: Do you stay with Osgood in the 2nd round? "Oh, for sure...you know, it's up to Ozzie now. It's just like, their job is to keep the other guy on the bench. That has nothing to do with me. They're both really good goalies. They've won us a lot of games this year. They've both got a Stanley Cup. They've got good experience. So now if Ozzie continues to roll, it's his. On the other side, Dom's worked really hard and he's dying to get back in there." Barrie 900 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Nothing against Hasek, I thought he was decent out there, but why would you even consider not stating Ozzie? It's Ozzie job to lose. If Ozzie struggles, go back to Hasek. It's good to have that option.

sixer 37 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Great work Ozzie! Very impressed with his ability to come in, play solid and be so consistent. Let's ride him to the Cup. I'll be the first to admit I've doubted him in the past, so let's hope he stays solid and gets more shutouts! I have Detroit goalie in my hockey pool as well, lol. Maaq 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 Kudos to Ozzie for being abble to come out in short notice and get a freagin' shutout. I respect him and Babs for the decision they took and him protecting our crease and not using Dom when he's cold. Hat's off.

zaxx 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 Poor Ozzie though, he played great in todays game stopping 20 shots for the shutout, and was not awarded a three star selection. Then the analysts talk about how he did not have a very hard game. Kipper from Calgary gets a shutout with 21 saves and is given the first star and they all talk about how hard of a game he had. Well Ozzie played great, and had his share of tough saves to make. Go Ozzie Go!!

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 I'm so thrilled by the shutout. I was sitting on the edge of my seat all game saying "thank you, Ozzie" after every save. Good to see the team playing well and headed to the next round. I am truly giddy.
