McCartyFanForLife 17 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 Figure I would take a crack at this: vs *Washington needs a win to stave elimination and take the series to a Game 7 vs *Boston is 0 - 20 in series they have trailed 3 - 1 *Montreal has played in 18 Game 7's; this will be the first after having a 3 - 1 lead Go Washington!!! Go Boston!!!
Viperar 16 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 I hope the caps can stay alive but I believe its a daunting task going back to the Wachovia center. IF the bruins pull the upset, this one will go down for the ages. Go caps, bruins.

Superman54 91 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 im gonna miss these, but I hope Washington and Habs win, if they both advance to the next round its Crosby VS Ovechkin! Well more like Pittsburgh VS Ovechkin, but still!
Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 Go Caps! I'd love to see them push this to seven. At that point, even though they really don't belong in the series, they'll have a great chance to move on. Get some popcorn for the Bs-Habs game, it will be an entertaining one. This series has been a monument to terrible hockey. Hamrlik fires the puck into his own net McCabe-style, and the Bs win 1-0 and devastate the Habs.

Opie 308 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 Got to ask this question: Is Bergereon playing? If he was supposed to be healthy enough for the second round, why not game 7? I hope he isn't because I want to see him play in the future, he has the makings of a great player, well he did before the injury. I would hate to see him get hurt, but if he would be ok to play in 3 days why not now?
marcaractac 3,963 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 Bergeron is not playing tonight. He hasn't been cleared by doctors yet. Hopefully they pull ou the W tonight though and he comes back in round 2!!

T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 eerie similarities in the Boston/Montreal series from a few years back.... 1. Boston vs 8. Montreal.....Boston was up 3-1 backed by a rookie goaltender (Raycroft) and lost the series to Montreal in seven..... game 5 was also 5-1 in that year..... I'm hopin Montreal pulls it out, but I also hope its close... OT would be ideal..... (I'm watching it with a Habs fan ) Also rooting for the Caps to win tonight, if only to force an exciting game seven.... but perhaps to have an Oveckhin vs Crosby round 2 matchup (Habs would need to win aslo)

akustyk 84 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 Go Caps, that's for sure. as for Habs and Bruins... I pretty much dislike Habs and would like them to be eliminated. but on the other hand Bruins are just a Blues type of team - they always manage to blow it up after playing some good hockey. maybe it's their year but I just don't see them being a legit threat in Round 2 to any team. I'd rather see Montreal because they at least bring some mental toughness and skill

Ontario Wingsfan 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) I posted this the another night and thought i'd post it again for anyone who missed it to show just how similar this years Habs-Bruins series has been to the one they played in 03-04 Boston 03-04 Montreal 07-08. Playoff Parallels In 03-04 The Bruins were the best team in the Northeast This year, The Canadiens were the best team in the Northeast In 03-04 Boston was led by rookie goaltender Andrew Raycroft This year, Montreal is led by rookie goaltender Carey Price In 03-04 Boston won Game 1 by a 3 goal differential. This year, Montreal won Game 1 4-1 In 03-04 Boston won Game 2 in overtime. This year, Montreal won Game 2 in overtime In 03-04 & 07-08 both Game 3's were decided by one goal with both underdogs winning to make the series 2-1. In 03-04 Boston wins Game 4 by 1 goal to take a 3-1 series lead This year, Montreal wins Game 4 by 1 goal to take a 3-1 series lead In 03-04 just when many thought the series was over, Montreal won Game 5 5-1. Andrew Raycroft played poorly. This year, Boston won Game 5 5-1 and Carey Price played poorly. In 03-04 Montreal came up with another 5 goal performance in Game 6 This year, Boston did the same. In 03-04 Montreal won Game 7 2-0 on the road? This year ????? EDIT: I do not take credit for this as I saw it posted elsewhere and thought i'd share.
