NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 4-6 months isn't too bad for a torn ACL. With any luck he'll be back playing before the regular season starts.
seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 "Acceptable" is a lot better than "We f***ed it up even worse" I suppose. Here's hoping he's even better than before after he heals up.

poxer 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Heres to a speedy recovery. He just started to turn a corner in his game. Hopefully this doesn't put him back and he plays as well as he was before injury.
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I was pinning next year as his breakout year. This may put a dent in my hopes for him
miller76 463 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Does anyone on here feel like, he has to start over and compete for ice time like a more junior player when he returns? Say we go far in the playoffs, and certain guys that weren't really standouts before, start to shine. I just think he was really making progress and impressing the staff with his grit. Hopefully he is able to leave off where he was without losing a step.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Why couldn't it have been Samuelsson? ... ... Get well soon. He should be back for the start of next season anyways.
seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I was going to type successful, but I must have been thinking of something else, while I was typing. OK, I didn't click the link and I thought it was weird that doctors would just call a surgery acceptable. It makes much more sense now

Actually, 4-6 months is the standard for ACL reconstruction. It's really become routine surgery, less than 3 hours. And I can say from personal experience that after rehab, your legs, and your whole body is stronger than ever. Good luck K!

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 As somebody who has had the same type of injury unforutnately from playing basketball, rehab will not be fun, and it will take plenty of time. And my knee that I messed up still isn't the same a little over 4 years later. But, I'm no professional athlete either so hopefully Kopecky will recover much faster. He was playing some of his better hockey this season late. Hopefully that play won't wear off anytime soon.
