Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 We need to do a better job of keeping leads. That's not a good sign for the future to let the other team dominate you like that the entire 3rd period. Also, Datsyuk looked amazing again tonight, and continues to be our best player in these playoffs. Yeah, we do it all the time. I wish we had the finish them off 9 or 10 nothing style. Agreed 100%, Datsyuk is becoming one of the best players in the league.
CAredwingsfan91 28 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 I'm mildly ashamed to admit that I'm kind of a Kid Rock-ophile. Any more details on it? im not a fan of him at all but that song sounded REALLY catchy...details - singing over drums no guitars or bass as far as i heard it was just the vocals over a good beat of drums, they were playing it in the background right before the game was gonna start. vangvace 12 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Twas a great save there at the end. More of the first period next time, fellas. Theodore or Budaj next game? Theodore
Packer487 3 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 So Osgood pretty much totally redeemed himself in the 3rd. Dumb and Dumber style. It'll be a series! Good thing "the post bailed him out" huh?
jpfalcon09 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Theodore went to the hospital, he played sick, likely dehydration. Budaj will likely play Game 2.

Namingway 146 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 The last few minutes of this game got me jumping off my seat, glad we got the W. Only 3 more to go! I know we can take them with or without Foppa. I've been wearing my home ice ozzy jersey for every home game since we've switched goalies. I think I'll keep doing the same LETS GO RED WINGS!!!!
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Why doesn't Hudler get 2nd line minutes instead of Sammy. He's playing way better right now, and would make that 2nd line even more dangerous. Plus, him and Flip had some chemistry earlier this season.
-=Red_Force=- 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 WHAT AGAME!!!! Damn it should have been 1 way game after 4-1 lead, but somehow we brought themm back to the game and BOY OZZIEEEEE DID MAGIC TONIGHT!!! Thnx Ozzie and everyone, but next time we should not let that happen after we have acomfortable lead. Well, afterall we're 1-0 up,let's keep progressing! Babs, lead us to the glory! Congrats all;)
Doggy 130 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Ya think we will ever see a 60 minute effort under Babcock? Lol. No merit to this whatsoever. You idiot.
Shockwave180 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Phew. We did not look good for much of the 2nd and 3rd, although we did just enough. Big props to Ozzie, though. And well-done to Franzenstein for his two goals. We need to be much better in Game 2, in my opinion; Colorado's forecheck was outstanding at times. But it's nice to get Game 1. This Is Bida 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 yea, theyre saying theo is sick. he actually left the arena shortly after being pulled. i agree he's overrated, but it definitely looked like something was wrong with him. especially on franzen's second goal. a blast, none the less, but not a goal that should've been given up. lets hope theo stays sick, forskin and wolski stay hurt! also, im agreeing with everyone on datsyuk's play. he's becoming one of the most dominate players (while still staying so underrated) in the league. i need a datsyuk jersey! (always contemplated on getting one but never knew to get Dats or Z. as much as i still love Z, Dats is definitely becoming my favorite player. while im obviously no where near as good, i play his style of hockey)
awingsincebirth 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Well, the way we came out of the gate is the way that we have to play for the rest of the postseason. Pierre said it himself, when we utilize our speed and energy that way, the Dives have no counter. It wasn't like the Dives played poorly in the first, it was the sporatic Presidents trophy winners deciding to give it all for a period before reverting back into the trend of mediocraty. Hopefully that 4rd period served as a wakeup call to this team that the Aves are a better team than the Preds, and you have to give it all for 60 minutes. I though Ozzie settled down after that 2nd goal, which was a softie. The third goal really wasn't his fault. He made some big saves in the 4rd, which made up for the fact that we were applying very little offensive pressure, and seemed to be having immense trouble clearing our zone. Kronwall was great, and it was nice to see him get some recognition on the TSN broadcast, and Franzen was also outstanding. But Wings, for game 2, emulate the first half, not the second....mmmkay?!?! 1-0 GO WINGS!

You mean the one that goes "there ain't no party like a Detroit part 'cause a Detroit party don't stop?" If not, then it's probably ''Detroit Rock City" that you are talking about which is by Kiss.
