Nev 1,085 Report post Posted May 5, 2008 He's the only guy on the outrageously (sp) homeristic Philly commentary team that I can abide. Plus he reminds me of the 90s glory days on ESPN.
Reilly 24 Report post Posted May 5, 2008 I miss Thorne more than anyone else. It's sad to see him have to call Baltimore Orioles games. His calls on goals and saves got me out of my seat.

BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted May 6, 2008 Besides TV, Clement can be heard hosting the XM radio show that Bettman fields questions from callers on. I like Clement a lot. He's a good representative for the NHL; well spoken, very professional, very passionate about the game.

He's a good representative for the NHL; well spoken, very professional, very passionate about the game. Also in the XM world, he has a regularly-scheduled segment on Phil Esposito's afternoon drive show.

Vincanni 1 Report post Posted May 6, 2008 Also for the record I am a fan of his and always enjoyed him as a commentator. Furthermore, I would love to see him and Thorney team up again.
Nev 1,085 Report post Posted May 6, 2008 I thought he might have contracted some disease after he shot this commercial... Please tell me that was a SNL skit, and not a real commercial I mean, were they trying to make it look like *** Porn?
akustyk 84 Report post Posted May 6, 2008 Also for the record I am a fan of his and always enjoyed him as a commentator. Furthermore, I would love to see him and Thorney team up again. ditto! they've been an excellent tandem and for many fans who hooked with hockey in 90's Clement and Thorne have been the voice of the NHL. I miss them
Nightfall 871 Report post Posted May 6, 2008 Also for the record I am a fan of his and always enjoyed him as a commentator. Furthermore, I would love to see him and Thorney team up again. I also agree. I know last year for the NCAA championships, they both did the frozen four and that was so much fun listening to them call the game. They also still do NHL 2008 and they worked for a week on NHL 2009 together. I know a lot of people don't like them as a tandem, but I did.
cupcrazy 13 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 Also for the record I am a fan of his and always enjoyed him as a commentator. Furthermore, I would love to see him and Thorney team up again. I agree 100%,guess EA thought the same thing using them in NHL 08. I remember people bashing them and ESPN back back before the lockout. Wonder how they feel now? I would love to see the NHL back on ESPN,and Clement and Thorne doing national hockey night again. I also miss NHL 2 nite.

I miss them Double ditto...Thorne and Clement were the voice of hockey to me when I was learning and falling in love with it. Hockey elitists tell me that I'm not supposed to like them because they weren't on HNIC, but you can't beat the voices who first explained the game to you. Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 (edited) Thorne and Clement were the best. They should be the main broadcast team for NBC; they are both far and away better than Emerick/Olczyk. (I understand contract agreements probably prevent that from ever happening, mostly on Thorne's side; just thinking aloud is all) Edited May 8, 2008 by Kp-Wings
