Graybeard 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 Turco - 87% Osgood - 95% Goaltending is not so easy against a team that knows how to screen.
kylee 727 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 indeed a great win in game 1. but lets not get too crazy friend. we got three more wins to go in this series..
dr_lobster 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 Turco had some good stops, but hey. It's a credit to us that we don't give him an opportunity to make a save on three of our goals.
Graybeard 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 Yes I'm sure they'll do much better in the second game. It looked like they eventually learned they couldn't play skill vs skill against the Wings and brought out their physical game. Detroit better keep their heads up next game. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 Shhh.. it's only one game. Turco is a great goalie. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and take anything away from him right now.
irishtemper14+25 11 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 great game...there were a lot of turco chants at the game, and he made some good saves
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 as much as some love to bash a goalie for goals against, there wasn't a lot Turco could do about most of the goals tonight. The Stars didn't show up tonight, with the exception of Turco and a couple of others - not enough, against the Wings. I wouldn't expect a repeat performance from the Stars in Game 2. They are not done, by any stretch of the imagination.
Shockwave180 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 Turco actually played well tonight. The Wings just were that good. Long way to go.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 Osgood will never get any respect, but by the end of this series, he will be the best goalie in the playoffs. Turco is great, and I like him alot, but he was doomed to fail as soon as they won in quad OT.

Guest Crymson Report post Posted May 9, 2008 indeed a great win in game 1. but lets not get too crazy friend. we got three more wins to go in this series.. And what would be the problem with becoming super-positive about our chances?
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 indeed a great win in game 1. but lets not get too crazy friend. we got three more wins to go in this series.. and luckily that is just the exact number of games left at the Joe this round.... bring on the Finals baby... SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 Turco - 87% Osgood - 95% Goaltending is not so easy against a team that knows how to screen. Can't ask for a much better game and overall performance by the Wings, but it's just 1 GAME. It takes 4 GAMES to win a series, let's not get too ahead of ourselves. SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 And what would be the problem with becoming super-positive about our chances? See above. There's a difference between being positive and being cocky and arrogant.
Opie 308 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 I don't think Turco was to blame for any of his goals against. Same with most of the ones on Jose Three or Four! It is the team defense in front of them that just isn't good enough. ANA had the physical D-men to move Franzen, Cleary, Homer around. Dallas does not have the D to move the guys out of the net, they do not play a solid enough team D to slow down Detroit. The photoshop photo of the Detroit Red Wings Parking only in front of the net is so funny and true!! I don't think the win last night had anything to do with Turco other than the fact he was the poor unfortunate fool behind his defense that looked vastly inferior to Detroit's offense.
