Franzen out for Games 2, 3, 4

Wasn't frantzen the recipient of a slash from Ott at the very end of the last game where Dallas ended up with 2 guys in the box ?? It was never shown on replay to my knowledge but I wonder if he's got a bad bruise or something lower body

You know how it goes if the injury is in one area they generally in the playoffs say it's in the diagonally opposite area of the anatomy

winchester slashed him at the end of the game. but i saw a post game interview with franzen in it and he was all smiley and s***. however at the end of the game i didnt notice him go out with the team to congradulate ozzie.

This is fishy. My vote says he got his arm slashed of by Winchester. Doesn't make sense that he's been suffering since the Nashville series. Because a) he's been playing and b) he's been playing amazingly.

Anyone recall him getting drilled in the nashville series? I can't remember.

Is it just me, or shouldn't someone experiencing "headaches since the beginning of the Colorado series" been checked for concussion, oh, during the damn week off between series?

I honestly think there's something else going on. Babs is covering up for some other kind of injury. Nobody plays as well as Johan has with a concussion, and for him to have those kind of symptoms for this long wouldn't happen. I just can't see Detroit playing him in a series where they dominated the opponant like they did Colorado, they didn't even really need him to win that series.

My guess is he's hurt in some way that could be taken advantage of by an opponent or could be poked at and made worse and this is just a cover up.

i dont think the wings are lieing about it because babs talked about it in his post game pretty fluently not like he was thinking of things to make up

he said franzen practiced on friday then later on said his head was hurting and it has been hurting since the colorado series but he thought it was just because of the high altitude in colorado. then babs kinda joked like yah whatever wires are tied up there must be working kinda thing but they took him to the doctors and are holding him out til further tests (monday) for precautionary reasons.

i believe we can get by dallas without franzen, but will definately need him for secondary scoring against the pens (if they make it).

It's all good - Franzen has basically put the team on his back offensively and done the job. Now its time for Homer to do his thing, along with Zets and Dats. Ozzie is doing his part as well, so no worries. Franzen is a work horse (mule actually ) and he'll be back asap. And since we won tonight, at least if he's out for game 3 the pressure is on them, not us.

What can rattle these Wings? Apparently not the news, dispatched Saturday evening, that Johan Franzen would miss Games 3 and 4. Franzen has concussion-like symptoms, and who can blame him? If you scored every time you touched the puck, you’d get light-headed too.

This is to bad, but i think that we will be OK.

He has been playing out of his mind. I think that we do owe alot to him at this point. However, i think that we can still win without him. We have a ton of talent and i'm confident that someone will step up in his absent. Maybe we will see Helm get on a role.

Zetters played great today and i think that he will pick up some of the slack. Dats should have had a goal today and he also played very well today.

Ozzie is playing out of his mind. Our D is playing some great hockey.

Sucks that the mule is out but i'm not worried.

Hope he is back soon.

In the PC after the game, Babs was saying that Mule was just having bad headaches. No dizziness or anything, but after evaluating him they thought it would be best for him to sit out until he gets some tests done to make sure what the problem is. Hopefully he'll be back soon, and if not everyone will step up.

As much as I hate seeing the league's hottest player not play, I'm thinking this might turn out to be in the Wings' favor. Without Franzen to rely on, it forces other scoring sources to step their game up (even though we won tonight, we only scored twice, which is the first time we had less than four goals in a game since the first round). If we can distribute the load onto players like Hudler and Fillpulla (heck, even Helm, apparently), and we make it to the SCF with a healthy Franzen, not only will our defense be unstoppable (given), but we would be rolling on three efficient scoring lines.

Well, he's getting tested on Monday, which is when game 3 is. They're not going to fly him out just to play one game even if he's cleared.
