Why is there a game tomorrow?

But we're still going to win the series. I started the thread because us winning was academic and inevitable. If you think that I'm destroying superstitions with that statement, then you should tell everyone predicting us to win in game 5 to refrain from typing anything.

I respectfully disagree based on the tone of your initial post and the bolded comments.

I've been awake now since 8, and have posted here several times today, but only now did I realize that we still have to play Dallas tomorrow.

From reading some of the other topics and things being posted here today, it appears that many people have forgotten it also, and share my confusion.

I understand that you have to win 4 games to win a series, but it still feels anti-climactic that we should play them again, since everyone is already looking towards the finals and Dallas looks finished. The game tomorrow just seems like some ritual that must be done even though it makes no sense to have to do it.

Can't the league just step in and call this game off? I think Dallas wouldn't mind, especially after what happened to the divealanche in game 4 of that series.

That doesn't prove anything. Like I said in that post, we're just going through a ritual since we'll eventually win. Dallas will quit the moment something goes against them. In this game they didn't have to, since they got the lead first thanks to the refs.

Besides, how could anyone have guessed that the refs were going to go to such extremes to cost us a game. But ahh, now I realize it, my original post somehow resulted in karma, which in turn resulted in Bettman telling the refs to blow the game for us.

Now it all makes sense to me. <_<

We'll see you in court, GMR.

who ever thought this thread would be more popular post game 4 than before game 4?

Zetterberg was amazing this game.

Too bad the thread starter jinxed the team tonight.

Read my above posts, geniuses.

Come one GMR, you know that's not what I was saying. The first post-game remark I made in this thread specifically said, "not that it change the outcome of the game".

My point is that your initial post did more than just say the Wings were going to win this series. It discredited Dallas as if they don't belong in the same barn as the Wings. Tonight the Stars did.

I'm on your side, GMR. :hehe:

I'm one of those foolish martyrs who secretly doesn't want anyone on his side. :hehe:

I just can't believe other people are taking their superstitions out on me. I didn't force anyone to say anything they didn't want to.

I didn't say that, I just think it's funny that your thread coincided with a loss. That's all.

Pick a side Kp. :D I hope you're enjoying this.

But tonight is just one night (thanks to the refs) They won't do it 3 more times, especially without outside help.

And yes, I don't think they belong on the ice with us. We're a far better team. They're just shooting in the dark, and tonight they hit something due to bizzarre circumstances.

It's just your "tone"/"arrogance." Some people can't handle it and they get all PMSy.

Their loss. *shrug*

I'm really not even that upset about the superstitions. Its the "the outcome is inevitable" and that to me your initial thread comes off a little arrogant. Obviously, were not really getting anywhere so we should probably just drop it and look forward to Saturday.

I just realized the irony of this whole thread. I'm always accused of being some grim pessimist, and now I'm being accused of being too optimistic and cocky.

That's a laugh. "What we got here is a failure to communicate".

:lol::lol:

I think what we got here is a need for Saturday to get here. :sly:

I'm out.

This is why it takes 4 GAMES to win, not 3, and why there was a game today, as a team is not out of a series unless they lose 4 TIMES. Dallas has yet to lose 4 TIMES.

It may be a mere formality until the Wings advance, it still may not be though b/c neither team has won 4 GAMES yet. I don't care if it is a mere formality, some of you really look like a bunch of arrogant morons guaranteeing this victory and having it explode right back in your face.

EDIT: And nobody better come at me with the referees lost the game for the Wings. That is a cop-out excuse, and last time I checked, people here were giving Stars fans and analysts so much crap for giving "excuses" for the Stars losing. That would make us a bunch of hypocrites then.

While the "interference" call was awful yes, it is a judgment call and I can't blame the referee for making a judgement call in the heat of the moment. I'm more annoyed that the play isn't reviewable so they can get the call right. Anyways, I can throw a myriad of other things that contributed to the Wings loss outside of the officiating, such as 2 hit posts, a failed 6-ON-3 opportunity, even other chances the referees gave the Wings with other power plays.

Didnt want to say anything for fear of being labled a troll, but this is all very true.

PEOPLE, JESUS CHRIST!!!!

He was being sarcastic about the fact that the wings had the series virtually locked down.

He didn't mean he actually thought there shouldn't have been a game 4.

And here is another story for the news at 10, teams lose games and it has nothing to do with who wore what shirt or what hat, or who has or hasn't washed their boxes this week!

We act and think like it does because that helps us be more apart of the game or more apart of the team.

NFM,

You are fighting a losing battle, respect on these boards comes few and far between.
