j.hoop 64 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Yea... either the Flyers were lucky to make it as far as the ECF, or the Pens have the east dominated as much as the Wings have been ripping up the west. i think they only had enough to make it as far as they have, no way enough to get to the finals
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Philadelphia is playing as if they're too intimidated by the Pens fowards. They aren't sustaining pressure in the offensive zone because forwards are too quick to give up on the situation to get back and be prepared for a defensive run. On an individual level they also look intimidated. The Flyers are fumbling the puck and passing it often to open areas.
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Well, I suppose that makes enough sense. Not the most satisfying answer, but probably the right one. Heh.
McCartyFanForLife 17 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 i think they only had enough to make it as far as they have, no way enough to get to the finals Flyers are missing their 2 best defensemen also so that's not helping their situation
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 And yea, they've been flubbing on a lot of passes and absolutely sucked on containment.. like that drop pass with which Prospal just backed up that statement.
Never_Retire_Steve 35 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Waiting for someone to take the bait... Also, I'm pretty sure I could have scored 50 goals in the NHL 20 years ago. It looks so easy. Actually if you take today's knowledge on nutrition and training, etc., etc. I can guarantee you that there would be 10+ 50 goal scorers in the league today that could easily score 50 20 years ago

Look at Coffey, how easy was it to score form the point back then? I hated that hockey. There were so many stoppages. A period used to take like 45 minutes. Totally ***. SeeingRed 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 ooof. you can tell philly's really hurting on defense. sloppy sloppy sloppy. Didn't even turn around until halfway into the zone! Oh well, let the pitts kids get cocky coming in to face a real team.
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Oy, horrible turnover there. Hmm, looks like Sykora got a bit banged up. Think he's alright? Yeah, Downie, who else, nailed him about 15 seconds after the puck was gone. How the hell Downie got away with that is beyond me.

McCartyFanForLife 17 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Basketball? *crickets* lol, I agree. I hate the Pistons, but I figured since the Pens/Flyers game is a bore, I'd let the Detroit fans know

This Is Bida 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Egh! I'm your typical hockey fan who hates basketball. Such a boring sport. The exact opposite of hockey! Anyways, that hit by Downie honestly pisses me off. He charges after Sykora and drills him LONG after Sykora gets rid of the puck. What a pathetic hit. Someone needs to lay that guy the f**k out. Its guys like him that don't belong in the NHL. (Sorry, just never liked that guy)

Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 I wouldn't mind if Downie Downied Crosby tonight. Only if he does it on a legitimate, clean, hard hit, and not some goonery.
