Yep. Don't sound so shocked either that I would take a middle-of-the road, trying to consider everything perspective.

Wings have blown big series leads before where they looked like they were dominant and then fell in the s**ter. Colorado 1999 and Los Angeles 2001, both lost 4 straight before.

Blowing a big series lead has happened before and while I'm not hoping it does again, it certainly can happen again.

Many teams have come back down from 2-0 down to win a series.

However, there's a big difference when it's 3-0 down. This would be the worst thing that has ever happened to the Wings as far as playoff disappointments goes.

Worse than being swept by the Ducks, worse than being swept in the 95 finals or losing to Colorado in 96 after that record breaking regular season. And even worse than that 1st round loss to Edmonton a few years ago after another great regular season.

This would be far worse than any of those disappointments.

No, it's not time to panic. It's the SC playoffs, it's not supposed to be easy. Some of you sound like you expect a sweep every series.

The refs do need to start calling Turdco, however, for kicking the net off all the time. Even minor league refs know to call that when it happens over and over.

Yeah it's called we don't have any scoring beyond 2 (3 whenever Franzen comes back) players. Don't give me this Hudler bulls***, he has 4 goals in 15 games, Flip has 3, Homer has 3, Sammy has 2, and Cleary has 1. THAT'S your problem. It's not goaltending, it's not defense. It's scoring beyond 3 f'n guys. With Franzen being out the last 3 games, it's showing everyone that we're a one line team. But no, we didn't need another scoring forward at the deadline, we needed Brad Stuart to take runs at guys and miss causing 2 on 1's...

Notice when Franzen went out the second powerplay line is non existant

HAHAHA, I was gonna post that too.

But, no, I don't think we're in trouble quite yet. My prediction was Wings in 6 anyway, so, I'm not too surprised. We do seem to have lost our momentum and that is a problem, if we don't come out well in game 6 then we will be in trouble. I really don't want this to go to a game 7.

But as for right now, I'm not too worried about it. Just get our momentum back and we'll be fine.

Next game if there is Vacancies in front of Turco all game long... we are done...

Holmer should not be firing empty shots from between the circle when hank and dats are cyclling around zone... he needs to get his ASS back in the CREASE and piss off Turco getting him off his game.

Right now... today is evidence that TURCO is winning the mind games... we are AFRAID to go near him all game long!!!

Let's not forget it was Bill Ranford in net for the first four games of that 99 Colorado series and against Los Angeles the Wings lost both Yzerman and Shanahan.

Well, in all honesty I was expecting a series to be made of this match up - it just seems to be rearing its ugly head later than I was assuming it would. I'm not sure what to make of all this right now. My hand is hovering over the panic button but I'm not pushing it until Game 6 has come and gone. The Wings have obviously been able to solve Turco before, they're more than capable of doing it one more time. They just need to start playing more angry hockey instead of more frustrated hockey.

Monday is your Game 7, damnit -- just like today should have been -- act like it!

This is 100% the case! We have to win Monday,or I think we lose this series.I can't even imagine being up 3-0 in a series, and a week later watching our team enter a do or die game 7! I think like most of us here after the 3-0 lead, the team looked ahead to the finals.

The Wings are in trouble. Yes. But I still think they will pull this off.

But the one thing that concerns me more than the lack of scoring or the defensive breakdowns...and please, someone tell me if they noticed this too.

They are taking more cheap shots, playing scared hockey. They don't know if they're coming or going. Draper's cross-check to..Ribs I think it was? was unnecessary. Homers hit on the bench was stupid and unnecessary. I haven't seen them act this bizarre in a long time. Not this season for sure. They better knock it off and get back to playing hockey.

I agree. They need to start playing hockey again and stop getting frustrated and taking cheap shots. I dont know what was up with Homers hit on the bench... that was just bad... the Wings are better then that and need to get back into the game and stay out of the box for stupid hits. Lets take Dallas in game 6! GO WINGS!

I'm stuck working Monday night too. I will be hoping for a good webcast from somewhere, no versus here at work.

Anyone else realize that Monday night / Tuesday morning is the full moon? I hope that helps us some way, maybe Kronwall and Drake will be extra blood-thirsty!

LETS GO WINGS! STEERS AND QUEERS HIT THE LINKS!

It's difficult to ask a hockey team to just take abuse without retaliation of any kind, which is essentially what these players are asked to do. I think that's why we see stuff like this from the Wings from time to time.

I'm pretty disappointed the Wings didn't finish the series in this game. I'm not sure there's any upside to this series dragging out longer.

The series isn't over yet until somebody loses or wins 4 games. Dallas is still closer to losing 4 games.

This is why I got all pissy on deadline day, much to everyone's bewilderment.

Don't get me wrong, I'm confident the Wings will pull this one out and bring the Cup back to Hockeytown this season. But I'll tell you what: passing up on Hossa in favor of the likes of Flip and Sammy really, really hurts right now.

You have a selective memory. We were not going to get Hossa for Sammy and Flip. What Pittsburgh payed for him was the equivalent of Flip, Howard, Hudler and guy like Helm. All this for a guy that is going to walk away from Pittsburgh after they lose in the Finals.

Hossa for Flip and Sammy was never on the table.

Agreed...In recent history it appears the Wings are @ times incapable of finishing off an opponent when they have a commanding lead in a series.

Recent history? Like the Avs? If you want to site history you can't pick and chose which examples to use.

And history has no bearing on today's games.
