yeah i'm surprised. Hadn't McCreary reffed something like 14 consecutive finals?

Yeah he has. I'm kinda mad, McCreary is like the Yzerman of officials, you always like him no matter what calls he makes. O'Hallaran is a joke, I dont even know who Marc Joanette and Brad Watson are. I remember back when it was always McCreary and Van Masonhovan.

well, it's probably a good thing you don't know Joanette and Watson. If their names don't ring a bell, it's probably because they haven't made a horrific call against the Wings.

Still, I'm shocked about McCreary.

I'm shocked Marc Joannette and Brad Watson got the nod.

In game 6 between the Wings and Stars I thought they missed some pretty obvious calls.

Does anyone else remember when Datsyuk was on that breakaway and after he didn't score, he tailed around the boards to retrieve the rebound. Robidas followed him and in doing so, he had his stick around his waist and made at least 3 'tugging' motions with it. It was so blatantly obvious I was spitting venom.

After that, they both completely blew the blind-side, interference hit on Lidstrom seconds before they scored their first goal on the PP.

Both of those were so obvious and yet neither was called.

The non-call on Robidas plain-as-day hook was the worst of the two in my book. They've been calling everything for two years when a guy has his stick perpendicular to the ice on a guys waist.

I mean, the call Modano got in Game 1 to give the Wings a 5-on-3 was a tickle compared to that and he got wrung up. How did this one get let go.

Both should be in the AHL as far as I'm concerned.

Just FYI, Kelly Sutherland was the one that waved off the Holmstrom goal, not O'Halloran.
Oh I know it wasn't him that last time, but O'Halloran has waved off a few legitimate goals for us and I overall just don't like him lol.

Dan O'Halloran

Hopefully he won't make the same mistake twice on Holmstrom interference. It's a judgement call in the heat-of-the-moment so you can't blame him for that. Just wish stuff like that was reviewable from the start to get the incorrect/initial judgment call corrected. Hopefully if a similar "goal" happens again, he'll get it right the next time around.

I really could care less who is officiating but I think it is kind of a slap in the face to McCreary, especially considering this is based off of performance.

From what I have seen he is the most consistent Ref in the NHL right now, I would say best, but to me consistency is the most important characteristic in a referee!

This whole thing reeks of a pro-Penguins conspiracy. I'm not about to make a big deal about it, but it's obvious that McCreary calls the game with a mind of his own which is too unpredictable for the NHL head office. Thus, out goes Bill, in goes 4 league stooges.

FUCH

While I don't like O'Hallaran being selected, calling it a pro-Penguins conspiracy is going a bit too far I think...

Sorry, I just don't buy into conspiracy theories or pro-bias/anti-bias towards sports teams.

is it possible that mccreary got the nod and declined it for whatever reason? it's bizarre that he would've just been passed over for the finals.

..i don't want to think the nhl strives for anything but complete fairness in every game played. i really don't.
