ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 Good. The more they whine and ***** the more nervous they are..good for us. Therrien is pretty bad coach anyways. What about their cheapshots at Franzen? Roberts going after Pavel? haha pathetic Penguins. all I saw was Datsyuk smacking Roberts around until a ref had to get involved.
truebladearmy 33 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 (edited) Someone on Pitt just said on NHLNet that they need to step up their diving in game 3!! LMAo I got a better idea. How about they get more than 0 five on five shots in the first period. That might help them They had two full PP's in the first, and 6 shots.....all on the PP, not a single one on 5 on 5. Here's a good strategy too......get the puck into the zone. While upping their diving, they should maybe consider winning a battle along the boards. Also while working on their diving, they should probably score a goal or two. Well, even one would be an improvement. Pittsburg is quickly becoming not my second favorite team anymore Not because they're getting owned.....but because they're handling their losses horribly. We had a goal disallowed in game one and shut them out 4-0. Then 3-0 in game 2. Maybe it's time to admit......they're getting owned. redwings1914 18 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 HAHAHAHA Homer just burned on Crosby....basically... "Are you going out there trying to shut down Sid?' "Who? Oh yeah I think I kicked ass tonight"
blikst 1 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 I can just imagine the Pittsburg players sitting between periods whining how terrible the refs are treating them, how Osgood dives and then draw straws as to who will try to punch Franzen in the head...

Detroit in 4, I predicted 5 b4hand but i mean they're really just not that good. The preds would beat these losers
LidsFan 68 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 I just love how he hinted at how he wants the Refs to call the next game. So is he saying that if they cannot win with their talent, they want the Refs to help them win? I wish more coaches were like Babcock, you never see him whine. dr_lobster 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 Just makes me that much more grateful for Babcock. Dude is always so dead-set in his message, but has a sense of humor. On the channel 4 post-game, he was saying the Wings play their best when they're playing with reckless abandon.
Yzermania 156 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 crosby's is just as funny... to sum it up so far... we need calls, ozzy dives, they aren't really outplaying us, ozzy dives.... oh and we need calls.

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 Just makes me that much more grateful for Babcock. Dude is always so dead-set in his message, but has a sense of humor. On the channel 4 post-game, he was saying the Wings play their best when they're playing with reckless abandon. Even in the most frustrating moments, all Babcock ever says is "well, let's try a different topic, okay?" But let's not get cocky. Pittsburgh being beaten this bad is unbelievable. It is shocking. Can it last? Of course I think the Wings will win, but we're going into Pittsburgh, they may get a system together, they may get the lucky calls, who knows. Wings have to keep the pressure on. Allowing Pittsburgh to gain ANY confidence is a bad move. Right now they are totally clueless and the Wings have to make sure they stay that way.
A.T.Hun 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 First of all, I love it. The Pens have totally lost it. The cheap shots and Michelle saying that the Wings are obstructing and diving show a team that is in disarray. Keep it up, guys. Secondly, though, I want to kick his French-Canadian ass. You lose your right to ***** about officiating (or anything for that matter) when your team takes not one but two cheap shots at Franzen's head. Thirdly, I don't want to see him doing it often, but I loved seeing Pasha throw the haymakers. Besides being ueber-talented he also has developed a nice nasty streak. LidsFan 68 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 I think that Crosby is in competition with his coach on who is the best whiner. So according to Crosby we have no talent, all we can do is dive and obstruct. What a great Captain, he must really be an inspiration to his teammates. I used to think that the Ducks were my least favorite team, but the Pens are trying to take over that place and they are winning.
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 Therrien is certainly well within his rights to express his opinions about calls/no-calls I think, Detroit has certainly had their fair share of both good calls for them such as Zetterberg's 1st goal against Nashville in the 1st round, Holmstrom's PP goal game 1 against Dalls, as well as piss-poor breaks with phantom interferences. You can pretty much throw any scenarios out there where the referees handicapped your team or perhaps helped your team with extra PPs. Bottom line is, I don't care who your team is, your team has to capitalize if the referees give you chances or if there is adversity against you. Pittsburgh hasn't done that these first 2 games. tsudzy 2 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 I have experience watching Therrien coach here in Wilkes-Barre (AHL). He's generally fiery behind the bench and usually b!tching even when winning. Seeing him the way he was behind the bench and at the press conference told me that the Pens are done. If he's resorted to crying (not b!tching), it's over for them. BTW, he's not that bad a guy. I've talked (and drank) with him.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 How the hell did Osgood dive, how is he to blame? Your team is down 3-0 and it's Osgood's fault? First off, if MT would watch the damn replay again he'd see that when Ozzie got hit, he fell back and hit the net which made him trip and fall down to the ice. He didn't exaggerate or make it look worse than it was.
Matt 1,049 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 It bears repeating (from the Photoshop thread): The best part of the whole press conference was the start. He sighs, puts his head down and you can just hear him thinking to himself... "Man... down 2-0... can't score a goal... should I be a whiny ***** right now?... no, I'm above that.... no.... ah, well... f*** it, why not..."
NHLrules? 32 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 This turd has given his team the opportunity to give up and die. "The refs are against us boys...." blah blah. Did he forget they helped his team get this far? Did anyone else see Cindy crying to the refs for like 30 seconds on the video feed? That was priceless. sjradio 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 Therrien has always been a crybaby It was the same when he was in Montreal, he did the same thing in the minors when he was in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with the Penguins farm club. He's not a good head coach and never was. He's always been a whiner and now he's being outcoached. Not hard to outcoach anybody in the east. All you have to do is use the Jedi Mind Trick on most of them. Was a mid season replacement in 2000-01, he finished 23-27-1 2001-02 went 36-31-15 and lost in the second round. 2002-03 started 18-19-9 and was fired mid season. (final record with Montreal 77-77-37) 2003-05 coached Pittsburgh's AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. 2005-06 was a mid season replacement for Ed Olczyk and went 14-29-8 the rest of the year) 2006-07 had Crosby and Malkin fall in his lap and lost in the first round to Ottawa in 5 games
ChicksDigScars 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 What a bunch of whiny, gutless, *******. They can't score a freaking goal, but it's not their fault. The Wings must be cheating. No credit where credit is due, just a bunch of crying about obstruction and acting. They ought to be embarrassed. Not only by their play, but their cheap shots and crying about it afterwards. Oh, and the fact that Roberts got his ass kicked by a perennial Lady Byng contender/winner.
sjradio 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 From the Pittsburgh Tribune Review's recap of Game 2 Pens, Malkin fail to respond by Joe Starkey Afterward, Penguins coach Michel Therrien deflected the first reporter's question, which was, "You had a conversation with Malkin (Sunday) about him being a leader in this game. How do you explain him having zero shots?" Instead of an explanation, Therrien offered up some sour grapes. "It's really tough to generate offense against that team," he said. "They're good on obstruction. It's going to be tough to generate any type of offense if the rules remain the same. It's the first time we're facing a team (where) the obstruction is there." Please. The Red Wings have skated circles around the Penguins for five consecutive periods, outshooting them, 59-29, over that span and outscoring them, 7-0. Even the Penguins beat writer doesn't buy Therrien's bulls***. I'm willing to bet that his players are doubting him.
puckbags 863 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 Its pretty simple so far...we are just plain as day outworking them!! We have our feet moving at all times which will always deter the ref from making a borderline call. If you are standing still and reaching out with your stick you go to the box for 2 minutes and you feel shame!! When you are skating hard the refs will almost always give you the benefit of the doubt!!
NHLrules? 32 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 HAHA Its easier to blame the "rules" of the game when you are obviously and severly overmatched. What a dumb thing for a coach to say, and we wonder why Cindy is such a whiner. Good luck Pens fans with Coach Crybaby and Cindy in the future.

"We don't have any game plan for any one player we don't have any game plan for any one team" awesome coach. You are killing me Mike.
