Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 Yeah, Sundin got it for...not making playoffs. Lidstrom, Iginla or Morrow should get that "award".

eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 Sundin is one of the four guys in the league I would have considered for that award this season. The others being Lidstrom, Sakic, and Brodeur

sdogg1m 3 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 Yzerman transcends mere mortal awards. If we had it our way every trophy would be named after a Wings player. The Hasek Trophy (Formerly Vezina) The Howe Trophy (Formerly Hart) The Pavel Datsyuk Trophy (Formerly Lady Bing) The Steven Yzerman Trophy (Formerly Conn Smythe) The list goes on... Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 One word: loyalty. Not really. I mean, yes, that's part of it. But he's also a tremendous leader who also happens to be playing phenomenal hockey on a craptastic team. Great guy.
PaVel DaTsYuK fan13 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 (edited) Morrow, Sakic, Nick and a few others are very deserving, but I love the fact that Sundin was still picked despite not enjoying team success this year. Great guy. Well duh. Being Swedish there's no other guy I like more. I'm sorry, even Lids doesn't compare in terms of Swe-love.

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 messier award??? pleassssssse... how is it not the Yzerman award. Because even as much as we want it to be, life isn't all 100% about the Red Wings, there are other worthy candidates for such an award as well, Messier being a good choice.
