ILWingsFan1 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 No moral victories in the SCF guys. We had to win this game, and now we let them back into the series. Anything can happen now. No, we didn't "have" to win. I know I ***** and complain with the best of 'em during the game, but face it, it's the SCF. It's not supposed to be easy. You don't get off to a 3-0 series lead every series.
NHLrules? 32 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Well, I hope our big money guys earn their pay the next two games. And Lids needs to show everyone in the world why he has that C on his shirt. I am confident in the Wings, but I want our money guys to show us the money next game.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 knowing our possession game can there be a conspiracy to make the ice surface choppy for us to play on? Is that why Cindy, Sydor, and freakin Hall were able to make crisp passes all night? Bad ice is a stupid excuse. In fact, its not an excuse at all. If the ice were as bad as people are saying, it wouldve effected the Pens too.

AUWingsFan 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 I am upset about the game since we lost, but really as some have already mentioned we only lost by one goal and I don't think we were ever really "out" of the game. I honestly hate the coverage.....I understand that the league wants to promote certain players, but shoving Sidney Crosby down my throat all the time even when he doesn't score is annoying....I refuse to watch the post game because I have a sneaking suspicion that the coverage will once again be Crosby-centric...... I feel confident that the Wings will rebound, I think we have too much talent, experience and good coaching to let another one slip away.....Go Wings! sdogg1m 3 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 knowing our possession game can there be a conspiracy to make the ice surface choppy for us to play on? I was telling my wife the same thing. Would it be out of the question? They don't let Red Wings games travel to the game so why not make the ice chippy to slow down the team.

Yzermania 156 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Seriously. He decided that since the rest of the team wasn't playing too well he'd do it himself, and he almost tied the game up a couple times. yah I don't know how many times I found myself asking "why does franzen have to do it al himself?". He was amazing tonight on O and D. The rest of the team played pretty bad..yet we still came close, so I'm not worried. I was kind of hoping they could split in pittsburgh so let's hope that'll be the case and we can wrap it up at home. Homer seems to be hurt... Bad news: If he can't play next game, well...we have no holmer Good news: If he can't play next game, we might get to see a whole game of ZDMule and that to me is the best line we can have. Mule does every thing Holmer does but with 10 times the skill. He might not be quite as annoying for the goalies but he doesn't need to be because the skill he has makes up for it. Anyhow, I hate that we have to wait till saturday for gm 3...either way, GO WINGS.
crabcakes'n'redwings 4 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 this is why i hate living and dieing with the wings... yeah i know we will rebound and (knock on wood) prolly win it... this feeling sucks so hard....
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Even though Im pissed as hell about the effort tonight, like I said earlier, it speaks volumes that it ended up 3-2. We gave them chance after chance with the s***ty performance we put on for half this game, and all they have to show for is a goal more than us.
NHLrules? 32 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 The only thing that concerns me at all. Our PP looks like s***. Total s***. I do think we need to score on our PP if we are to win this series.

MalkinsJock 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Bad ice has nothing to do with dumbass passes by Stuart and Lilja. You don't make passes into the center of your own zone unless you know the recipent is going to get it out. Passing it into his skates is even worse. On the Stuart-Zetterberg pass, Z was going to get flattened if he recieved that pass since two pens were covering him. Those are just two stupid plays, not bad ice. FUUFNF 1 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Are you kidding? He has an assist and a goal after coming back from a concussion and a week of no practice! re-read my post. i didn't say that the mule was jinxed, but the shirt itself has been bad luck so far. btw... both goals were scored after the shirt was removed. Matt 1,049 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 The only thing that concerns me at all. Our PP looks like s***. Total s***. Oftentimes they're caught trying to do too much individually and in a few stretches tonight they were caught just standing around. However, for most of the series they've moved the puck extremely well -- but they're not taking shots. They need to get some shots on goal. Pittsburgh's being aggressive on the points and Detroit started to attack that by having guys cut in at the half-boards, but they're not taking shots once they get there. (Often it looks like they're just trying to get the high defender(s) to come back down before getting it right back to the point-man.)
Must Kill 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 one thing is for sure first agenda is taking the crowd out of the game. Nothing I hate more than watching wings play on the road in a hostile crowd. Again proving we need to score the first goal

Tonight was the first loss in which I've worn it. Detroit's been undefeated previously. "Bad luck" is relative.

Our PP looks best when Lidstrom is shooting from the point towards the center of the blue line. He needs to be more assertive out there. The guys on the slot are forcing shots where there's nothing to shoot at.
C-TownWing 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Chris Chelios has been riding the coattails of his career for about two seasons. Disagree, he was a stud for us in the playoffs last year. As a pro-Cheli guy, I'd like to see him back in there, but at the same time, I have a hard time justifying benching one of the current six right now. Stuart's not going anywhere for one bad game after being nails for pretty much this whole run. Lilja...I don't know...I counted three fairly bad TOs by him in the last two games, but at the same time, none led to goals and he's been fairly steady otherwise. He also adds a degree of physicality that Cheli no longer has. If we lose game 4 and sloppy 1st passes continue to be an issue, I fully expect Cheli in for game 5, because that is something where he's a clear upgrade over Lilja. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 I don't know why but this loss doesn't bother me in the least bit. It's kinda weird, but it's just that I feel extremely great about Game 4. For those bitching: Seriously..do you expect the Wings to go up 3-0 in every series and play perfect hockey in every game? Because I sure as hell don't. Some of you have unreal expectations. Losses are going to happen every now and then and it's always a good reminder to a team that they can and will play better. They will be fine.

BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 How much it impacted the outcome of the game is up for debate, but the ice surface was surely poor tonight. Pierre was standing right at ice level and they were discussing it matter of factly on the NBC feed.
