Antilles328 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Is Therrien gone if the Penguins get swept? If so I have the perfect replacement. He fits perfectly into the Penguins style of play. Aiming to injure players with known conditions? Check! Dominating the first few rounds of the tournament and blowing the big games? Check! Likes to wear to wear team colors? Check! VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Isn't Therrien up for the Adams award? How far the mighty fall.
Bad Vlad Forever 1 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 He's not classy and he's proven himself a whiner. He'd fit in great in Anaheim after the Maple Leafs ****** up Burke, who is also classless and a whiner.
Anomalously 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 I think Ken Hitchcock or Pat Quinn would be a couple potential guys to coach this team. This team has the talent and chemistry, needs a respected, veteran coach. Hitchcock obviously isn't on the market, but still thought I'd mention him.
union drone 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Isn't Therrien up for the Adams award? How far the mighty fall. Just out of curiousity, has a Jack Adams finalist ever been fired at the end of the season in which he was nominated??
Graybeard 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 For the Penguin's sake I sure hope so. Just don't let them near our assistant coaches. How bad would it suck to have to play a team with that talent coached by someone who came from the Wings system?
Seraph 240 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 The whining is really bringing his team down. I think that's a pretty big flaw, though, perhaps not enough to get him fired. On a side note, can ANYONE explain what he's talking about as far as "obstruction"? I'm hearing about the accusations in the interviews but didn't hear the original allegation. Does hitting the crap out of your players and avoiding your checks equal "obstruction"? I don't get it.
Marty Midnight 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 The call before the playoffs for Therrien was: get to the confrence finals and or win them and you have gotten far enough. He will be back for next year at least.

Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Is this thread for real? Last year, he took the Penguins to the playoffs a year before most people thought they'd make it. This year, he turned them into serious Cup contenders at least a year before most thought they would be, and then made it to the Cup Finals. Yes, his comments the past few days have been disappointing, but no way does he lose his job after this season.
Doggy 130 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 No, Therrien will still coach them. I still think he's done a great job with Pittsburgh.

I don't know, for me, I look at Crosby and Malkin and the general wealth of young talent on this Pens team. These are curcial years for their development. With that in mind, I look at Therrien. And then I feel bad for that young talent.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 I wouldn't be surprised, because I seriously doubt that them making the Finals should be attributed heavily to him. Besides, his personality just begs of someone to fire him, no matter the team's success.

eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Just out of curiousity, has a Jack Adams finalist ever been fired at the end of the season in which he was nominated?? Ted Nolan won the Adams, and was fired by the end of the summer. This is one of the major actions that started the questions about Hasek's ego and how he could be a cancer in the locker room; it was generally perceived that the primary reason Nolan was fired is that Hasek didn't like him.
