Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 What a glorious, wonderful amazing game. I threw my remote control at the wall during the 5 on 3, I was so certain something horrible was going to happen. And then we won the game and I fainted. WIN MONDAY. Stan Leycup X 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Rex on NHL Network! And I just realized that my Zata jersey bounced back from the last loss (I never switched over to Lids). 6-2 record on that jersey, Lids jersey was 9-2. My Datsyuk jersey is 0-1, I haven't worn any jersey in any other game. Good thing I didn't go to Joe Vision tonight.
Firehawk 305 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 How many shots did the PenIs even have even strength? Half a dozen? They are totally toothless on anything but 5 on 4 or better. Nothing but a bunch of cherry-picking, clown-punching babies coached by a sobbing hack that makes Mike Keenan look talented. Therrien - "I've tried nothing and I'm all out of ideas." STANLEY IS COMING HOME - 06/02/2008 They ran into a complete team and they don't know what to do about it. In my opinion, they're lucky they haven't gotten swept. Pens fans after game 3 sounded ridiculous. I had to read that s*** for 3 days. I'm so glad we won because they got put back in their place. Wings in 5 baby! I'm happy they're going to win it at home!!!!!!!!

In some ways, that's more important than winning the Cup.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 GREAT GAME! The 5 on 3 kill was a thing of beauty, my usual superstion worked, Z played his best defensive game of the playoffs. Crosby and Terrian are whiney little *******, heres to the Stanley Cup on Monday!

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Crosbys antics at the end of the game were nice. Interesting fact, it was Aaron Downey (then with Montreal) who first called out Crosby for diving. Anyone remember that from the start of last season (06-07). Crosby is a disgrace, sorry thats what he is.
awingsincebirth 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Hey guys, I wasn't here for the GDT, and I don't feel like scrolling through page after page to find this out: Was there the general consensus that the refs were trying to tee this one up for the Pens? I mean, I'm not one to buy into conspiracies and s***, but I thought it was unreal what the refs were overlooking in this game on the Pens side compared to the Wings. I told my buddy that I wasn't getting pissed at the calls on us, I thought they were all fairly justifiable, it was the missed calls on them that happened the ENTIRE game. The can opener in the first, giving Franzen a matching penalty when he got jumped by 2 Pens for barely a thing, a few cross checks, hooks, and general obstruction that the refs were seeing and not calling, and the retarted s*** that they were doing in the faceoff circle so that the Pens could win the faceoff battle. Nonetheless, the better team prevailed, but I still thought the officiating was pure horsepiss and should be dealt with. OZZZIE! GO WINGS!
Vilmer 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Great game boys!! The refs TRIED to make it a game, but we stood tall with class as usual. WOOOOOO!
Mule Train 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 "Cindy Crosby is maybe the best player in the league" - NHL Network tool What a joke! Maybe the biggest cryer. Z and Dats completely own Cindy baby on the ice. Hell - Ovechkin is a FAR better player than Crysby will ever be.
SliderJeff 11 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Nice job, boys. So proud of the way you responded after the Hoser goal in the first. Here's hoping that it's hard for me to sleep Monday night because I'm so happy they are hoisting the cup again! LET'S GO RED WINGS!!! Hmmm... strange that "Captain Jackass 66" hasn't chimed in with any of his pro-Pens propaganda and anti-Wings rhetoric that we've all come to ignore and loathe. Gosh I miss hime
Barrie 900 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Best game of the series by far. Outstanding effort by our boyz in Pittsburgh! After the Pens goal, we completely dominated! Pittsburgh was playing the trap in a 1-1 tie, which I thought was odd. Looking ahead to Monday.... I wonder, if not scoring on the 5 on 3 and losing a game at home, if Pittsburgh is done? I wonder too, if we'll win big on Monday? One more win everyone and Stanley is home!

The calls on us were being made and for the most part they were good calls but Pittsburgh was doing tons of the same stuff we did and got nothing for it. That Franzen penalty was dumb, all he did was skate towards the net and stop. Hard to be mad about officiating though when we're one game away from winning it all. It had to be pretty close to the most one-sided game I've seen in a long time. Just looking funny at a Pens player was about enough to draw a penalty but the only calls we got were s*** like FlowerBoy shooting the puck over the glass on a clear. I lost track of the numbers of trips and cross checks. The refs did everything in their power to keep Pissburgh in the game but they still FAILED IT. Faceoffs were a joke too. Refs had to try to make sure we couldnt get possession of the puck. Then they gift the Pens that pathetic 5on3 and they STILL couldnt get it up. The league ought to be ashamed of the way this series has been called.
servo 15 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Therrian is saying the didn't "execute" on the 5 on 3. I mean, duh. What the f*** does execute mean other than "get it done." Of course you didn't "execute" you stupid f***. Crosby says the same business lingo bull shot. "Execute" is meaningless. Replace "execute with *score* and what you are saying is BS. "Well, to win, we really need to *score.* We failed on that 5 on 3 because we didn't *score.* In the first two games we failed because we didn't *score.* And on and on... Why'd we lose? ughhh, well I thought we shut the lights out in the first two periods. Ughh, in the third period, we just couldn't put the biscut in the basket, We just couldn't put the stuffing in the turkey We couldn't even put the turkey in the oven. We couldn't put the car in the garage, we couldn't put the train in the station, ughh the rod in the water, the lighting in the bottle, we couldn't put the cat in the hat. Thats really why we lost tonight; we couldn't put the cat in the hat.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Wow...NHL Network tool trying to make an excuse for Fleury, claiming that the Delay of Game penalty is a "new rule" and that maybe Fleury didn't know about the rule because goaltenders used to do that all the time. GO WINGS! i was getting irate at those calls tonight. i don't really have too much complaint with the penalties called on the wings - they all seemed legit - but i was pissed that they were not making the same calls against the pens. in particular, there was a blatant trip on hank at the start of the 3rd that the refs ignored but i just shrugged and assumed that they were putting their whistles away. then they call maltby and lilja for far less obvious infractions to give the pens a 5-on-3 but we still won so f*ck 'em!!!! Wow. Wow is right.... I don't know what MAF was thinking there anyway. Even if it hits the glass, wouldn't it have just come right back out in front of the net in all likelihood? I love when that guy handles the puck. 1 more boys! I can't believe we're this close to another Cup. Crosby is such a *****.
