Matt 1,049 Report post Posted June 3, 2008 Wings were better than they were in the 1st, but they've still been guilty of some horrendeous giveaways. A lot, a LOT of nerves in this game. Great effort by Helm in this game -- he's been fantastic and it doesn't seem like he knows he's supposed to be nervous. Power play has looked HORRIBLE and they'll need it to win this game. Trying to do too many things as individuals. They need to SKATE, win the little battles, win FACEOFFS (come on Flip, losing to Malkin?) and adopt the K.I.S.S. philosphy: Keep It Simple, Stupid. Get the puck on net and good things will happen (i.e., Helm).
Mule Train 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2008 (edited) How about splitting Hank and Dats for the 4rd and giving the Pens two different lines to look at? Together they are not having a real great night and it would force the Pens to adjust their defensive coverage. If they are down to 5 defensemen we could break the game open. Wingman 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2008 No s*** they do everything they shouldn't do - shoot instead od pass, pass instead of shoot, hang on too long to the puck... I'm especially worried by this part. What the hell is wrong!?

Mule Train 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2008 (edited) Pierre's head is shaped abnormally. And the top isn't even shiny, but the sides are. Ughhh. Thats from all the friction burns to his ears. Besides, if the top of his head was slick Crosby's whine glass would slide right off. Edited June 3, 2008 by Mule Train
seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted June 3, 2008 Ok. After looking all around for my lucky Red Wings boxers, I finally found them - in the dryer. So Im wearing wet boxers in hopes of a Wings victory. We don't lose when I wear these boxers. That's hardcore. Wet boxers is one of the worst feelings in the world

I like rotating Cleary up on that top line -- it adds some speed there since Holmstrom doesn't bring that. Cleary made a nice centering play in the 2nd that resulted in a scoring chance, probably the 2nd one of the period outside of Fleury's nucking-futs save on Sameulsson. It'd be worth a shot, if not in the regular lines, atleast on the PP

Pskov Wings Fan 71 Report post Posted June 3, 2008 serious question: has pavel taken a shot this series that has hit the net? it seems he's always shooting wide. I noticed this as well. I would rather like him to hit the goalie than post or backboards. Like the play in the second when he took the puck away from some Pens player and than shot it just outside the left post. Krystal 41 Report post Posted June 3, 2008 I've got my alcohol in my 98 Cup champions stein, my jersey (which is over a t-shirt - and it's freakin' HOT) and I'm feelin' good about this next period. Penguins will come out wanting blood, they're desperate and they're nervous. Especially if anything serious happened to Gonchar or Malone. But I see them both back, if in any shape or form it's physically possible. There's too much on the line. Unless Malone's jaw is hanging down like a zombie and Gonchar's kneecap is in his big toe - they'll be there.
