Getting a little nervous, Detroit fans?

The Pens are facing elimination and...we're supposed to be nervous?

Exactly. And i also love the la-di-da attitude the Pens are trying to portray in the press. I keep reading, "we have nothing to lose", "all the pressure is on the Wings"ect. That's bulls***. I'm willing to bet most hockey fans of other teams are pulling for the pens, it's clear the media (canadian imparticular) are most certainly pulling for and talking up the Pens. TSN looks like a f'n Pens fan site. All the talk is about how "devestated the Wings must be" I read headlines saying "Can the Wings still win the Cup?" are you kidding me? Uh, I'd have to say they stand AT LEAST a good of a chance as the Pens, no? I get the feeling from some coach/player quotes, media articles that the Pens have jumped the last hurdle and are planning a party at Marios with the Cup. If you didn't watch any of this series you'd think the cup is pitts to lose, they've controled the seires, and they're the most composed, unfazed, and mentaly strong group to ever take the ice post season or not. I like that a whole lot. I hope they keep that cloud 9 feeling, keep living in that game 5 victory. The programs should have a picture of the Cros, but like alfred e newman, "What me worry?" Over confidence can be just as bad as being too nervous. See me as a Wings fan, can look forward to tonights game knowing that the Wings know how to win, how to handle pressure, what it takes and all that and if all else fails and they do lose, game 7 is right back here in Detroit. What happens if the Pens lose? Oh yeah, forgot about that silly 4 loses and your out thing. The Wings know what happend last game and I'd be nervous having to be the one to stand in there way, knowing they aren't going to let that happen again, and they sure as hell aren't going to get this close to let it slip away. Go WINGS!

The reason a Pens fan would start this thread is because they like their players are ****** bags. I can't wait for them to lose tonight and like their captain whine about it.

By the time the Pens realize whats happening tonight it'll already be over.

We Red Wings fans just like our team are experienced in winning the Cup. We are shouldn't be nervious at all I know I'm not.

GO WINGS GO!

Actually, the games have been selling out. In fact they were sold out except for a few single seat tickets within 10 minutes of going on sale.

I don't think most here thought that it was a legit question that started this thread but rather a taunt to which Wings fans responded.

Most of the complaints here were not about non-calls but the absolutely horrible overtime calls for goalie interference (which my gripe was the calls in general I don't want the Wings getting those calls either especially in OT). Furthermore, you have to be kidding when you say that ya'll aren't talking about the ones that go our way. Did you listen to anything that your coach said after games (especially after games one and two). I have no problem with the Pens and like most of the players but I have rarely heard a coach whine as much as Therrien did. I was disgusted with the way that he whined and I honestly believe that even if I weren't a Wings fan it would have made me sick. I appreciate your post and the tone in which you wrote it but respectfully disagree as I truly believe that your coach has been an embarrassment this series.

That being said great play and comeback from your team Monday night and I look forward to another great game tonight and may the best team win.

I really have not listened to the coach, just the players comments. I think maybe he did not prepare the team correctly for this series. maybe trying to cover up for that mistake by blasting the refs' calls or non-calls. Other than that, he has shown he is able to motivate the team or individual players when he has to. Whining about the refs. is unprofessional. Just can't take that we lost I guess.

Maybe you don't understand the phrase "three in a row" if the Pens were to win the cup they whould have to win three in a row. Yes, they have one one of those but the point is that it is still going to be really hard to win the last game and the next two. Thats how winning and losing streaks work you count all the games. The Pens will have to win three games in a row without the Wings winning one.

If I were a betting man I would probably take any odds that the Pens would win the last game, seeing as how the GAME IS OVER. I understand english + math might be a bit of a challenge to a Wings fan, but "the Pens need to win 3 in a row" is a sentence in the "present tense." [Now follow me here because we're adding the math part] Since there are only 2 games left in the season and we are, indeed, in the present, it follows that the Pens need to win exactly 2 games in a row to win the Cup. Of course after tonight it will be one, but I don't want to overload your pea brain with "future tense".

After tonight it will be one? Pray tell, how does a team win one game in a row?

wow, getting very personal over the grammar here ... the pens do "need to win 3 in a row" to win the series ... 1 that they have won and 2 more ... that makes 3 in a row ... if they only win 2 in a row, that would be the last game and this one, since 1 + 1 = 2, which would mean they would have to lose game 7, because winning it would make 3 in a row ...

Your words, not mine. But I have Monday night's game on DVD if you'd like a demonstration. Unfortunately, I missed the footage of the Wings trying to put all those corks back in the champage bottles. I heard a lot of practice time was wasted today trying to figure out how to do that.

Who the F*ck cares about "games in a row!" the pens won their last game on home ice this season back a week ago!

There is no more streak... it will be ended exactly at 1 for the second time this series.

Game Over

Edited for day confusion in my old age

You have past tense down pretty good, but games 1-5 are now completely irrelevant and it has nothing to do with grammar. I hope the Wings players also can't let go of the last game because I know the Pens are focused on the only game that matters right now - tonight's.

I would hope the pens would be focusing more how to get their youngsters more "legs" to actually keep up with older crew on the ice.

The youngsters were looking a bit....ummmm pathetic passing out on the ice... coMALKINugh

You would too if you were playing without your top D-man that usually gets iron man minutes. I guess it only mattered that our goalie was still fresh, huh?

If the Wings don't win tonight, that's honestly, 100% not going to be the reason why. They are a veteran bunch who knows how to put this stuff past them. Probably the most important vet in the bunch tonight (Ozzie) is better than anyone at that.

The Wings will use that anger as fuel, not a hindrance.
