Ray Emery bought out

I don't think anyone will take a chance on him until he goes somewhere non-NHL and proves that he's grown up enough to be a team player and a better human being. It's not like this guy was Marty Brodeur of the 90's before he started blowing off practices, fighting with his teamates, and pulling the pout when he was relegated to #2. You could argue that Emery was one of the main reasons the coach in Ottawa lost his job and their season went into the toilet. The chemistry was never the same on that squad after Emery's antics. I don't think there is a GM in the league that wants to take a chance on ruining their team's entire season cause "wittle ray ray" might not get his way and not be allowed to show up for work whenever he wants to.

In my opinion this is a good move for Ottawa to cut ties to this clown and show the rest of the team that no one is above the team. This is a first step in rebuilding the command structure and Emery got what he deserved in the end too which is icing on the cake for the organization.

Ottawa's coach shouldn't have been hired in the first place, he was a horrible choice for the Sens. As I said before, the Sens have chemistry issues beyond Emery, he just got blamed for everything because his problems were the most public. Emery was pretty much nowhere in sight when the Sens choked in the playoffs. The person who is most responsible for the Sens chemistry problems would have to be Bryan Murray, who choose to ignore the Sens locker room problems when they were winning.

I kind of have a feeling that Ottawa will end up with Ryan Miller.

As for Emery, I say he ends up taking Gigueres job in Anaheim. The Ducks self destruct, and I become a very happy man.

(sorry I drive by Honda Center regularly with middle finger extended)

I don't see the Sabres giving up their homegrown, brilliant young goaltender.

Agreed. The only way I see Buffalo moving Miller is if they know with 100% certainly he won't sign with them when his contract is up.

I think some people on here are reading what I said about acquiring Miller the wrong way. My opinion or fantasy if you will, would be to acquire him and have him share duties with Ozzie. Do I think that could happen? No. I can dream cant I? Sorry to throw a pipe dream into reality talk here.

Well, since everyones throwing around teams needing goalies why don't we just look at EVERY team.

Teams that are ready for next season in goal (at this point):

Anaheim, Boston, Columbus, Edmonton, Florida, Minnesota, Montreal, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, San Jose and St. Louis

Teams that need MAY need a Starting Goalie:

Colorado, Los Angeles, Nashville, Washington

Possible UFA options:Jose Theodore, Dan Ellis, Cristobal Huet, Olaf Kolzig, Emery could possiby fit one of these spots

Teams that could POSSIBLY use a backup goalie that would start 15 or more games:

Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit*, Los Angeles, Nashville, NYI, Ottawa, Tampa Bay and Toronto

UFA options: Patrick Lalime, Ty Conklin, Johan Hedberg, Johan Holmqvist, JS Aubin, Wade Dubielewicz, Emery would also fit nicely into this group

*I say Detroit only if after camp they don't think Howard is ready.

Teams that would require a bench warming <10 start goalie:

Buffalo, Calgary, Chicago, NYR, Vancouver

This UFA list would be made up of names like Curtis Sanford, Scott Clemmensen, Jocelyn Thibault, John Grahames, etc etc. I think Emery could do better than this. Who knows tho.

Emery is garbage. Any team that even considers taking a chance on him after his antics last season will be desperation (or stupidity) in it's finest form.

Oh, and if any of you are still interested in sending a letter to John Paddock, you'll want to address that to "Under the Bus" which is exactly where Ray Emery threw him.
