Wings want character guys and when they said they wanted to carry an enforcer they meant a skater who fights the opposition, not a goaltender who will get upset and go after Homer the first time he parks himself in the crease during practice. With Detroit's "Family Like" approach it has with it's players you can bet he will feel more "at home" and will be watched and monitored closely. Babcock will be very strict with him and with vets like Lids, cheli,drapes,mac,homer etc, they would be a huge help to him as well. Whats the harm of signing him to a cheap one year with bonuses? It could be a steal cause this guy has tons of talent if he can focus. If he messes around he can be waived and sent to GR or get claimed. Just think if Cleary was spotlighted for all the dumb s*** he did when he was younger would u have been crying that he made the team? and we dont kno wtf goes on in that locker room but come on people you think Kenny would add a toxic piece to the puzzle? dont think so .. so if we pursue Ray then good for us .. Emery is poison. I'd like to think the Wings are a stronger team than one that would be torn apart by the actions of one numbnuts newbie. It's not character that is the reason I don't want Emery, it's just I think he's a bad goalie. I think his '05-'06 season and this past year are more representative of his talent than '06-'07.
