Redwingsfan18 1 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 With 52.8 committed, this pretty well takes them out of the Jagr running, unless they get pretty creative. Maybe Jagr will go there for cheap as well just to win a cup?? Sike.

ThreeRiversFan 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 Take last years stats for these two and double them, playing with Sid and Malkin... Good signings...for 5.4 million combined Take Malones stats and cut them in half...going to Tampa

Good signings...for 5.4 million combined Take Malones stats and cut them in half...going to Tampa ...not necessarily, Tampa did draft Stamkos, who is just as good as Crosby coming out of juniors, and is expexted to be just as good in the NHL, so maybe you can double Malone's stats because he will no doubt be playing with either Stamkos or Vinny or St. Louis... ...personally I'd rather have Malone than Satan or Fedotenko or both. But, we'll see, they definately filled some holes, but I think they are trying to use square pegs...
shoe 165 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 Pens will be dangerous even next year! good signings.. cheap too! but why only 1-yr-deals? Maybe the want to try for Hossa again next year.

DatsyukownzU13 1 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 Old Pens Hossa - Crosby - Dupuis Malone - Malkin - Skyora Ruutu - Staal - Talbot Kennedy - Hall - Roberts /Larauqe New Pens Fedetanko - Crosby - Satan Staal - Malkin - Skyora Dupuis - Talbot - ? ? - Kennedy - Godard I like the wings, and Hossa better I doubt they'll totally dismantle previous lineups. Maybe something like this.. Satan - Crosby - Dupuis Fedotenko - Malkin - Sykora Kennedy - Staal - Talbot TBA - TBA - Godard That way you keep the chemistry between Crosby/Dupuis and Malkin/Sykora going while filling in with slightly worse players at each position. Satan and Fedotenko are pretty much just inbred versions of Hossa and Malone haha.
FUUFNF 1 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 Take last years stats for these two and double them, playing with Sid and Malkin... highly unlikely that satan pots 32g/50a AND fedotenko scoring 32g/34a. still, decent signings.
Cern 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 ...again, who wants to play in Edmonton? Sundin $10 million, Hossa $9 million and Jagr $7 million. A lot of money offered, yet noone seems to be very interested. Why doesn't Edmonton move to Kansas City? Nothing is moving to Kansas City. The city screwed up big time when they decided it would be a great idea to build a shiny new arena and just assume that teams will jump at the opportunity to play in it. Glubki 17 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 I thought Shero did a pretty good job this offseason - he locked up Malkin and Orpik to long term deals. He also brought in a few veteran forwards on one year deals to help replace Hossa. In doing so he avoids any long term deals that would limit his ability to offer Staal a significant raise next year. The only moves I didn't like was the re-signing of the frequently injured Eaton and the failure to buy Sydor out. They could have picked up a top notch defenseman with some of the money they are spending on those two...
LeftWinger 5,130 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 ...I really didn't want to start a new topic for this, so I figured I'd put it here since Pittsburgh could use this guy to help replace SOME of the offense they lost... Sergei Fedorov. ...BUT, what happened to Sergei Fedorov? I don't recall hearing him sign anywhere. Is he that washed up? Maybe Pit could add him for a little offense. Although I am extremely happy with what Holland has done, a little part of me still missess Fedorov in the Winged Wheel. Honestly I hope Pit DOESN'T sign him, or Colorado or St. Louis or Chicago or anyone that would possibly gives us fits this season. Dunno, kinda wish we had a spot for him. Oh well! Plus, he has some offers from Russia. ...looks like he will be off to Russia because I don't know of any team that'll give him $4MM... ...wonder if Holland contacted him at all? I bet if he did and when he heard $4MM Holland hung the phone up hysterical! I can see Holland offer about $1.5 at the most. He is not worth $4MM anymore, especially here in Detroit... ...hurts me to say this, but if Feds wants $4MM then it was nice knowing ya!

Wingsfan1988 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2008 Who cares about the Pens signing? Satan- Better days are behind and he already lost to cartman and Kyle in the south park movie. Ruslan Fedotenko? Who? YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted July 5, 2008 (edited) Conklin>??? Who's their backup? Haha chill. Im well aware that we signed Conklin, but its yet to be seen if Sabourin will be their full time back-up. I would guess they're still going to make a move for a different back-up. Edit: And you're right, I would guess that back-up wont be as good as Conklin was for them.. Edited July 5, 2008 by YoungGuns1340

Am I forgetting others? And even then, Cooke's not much of an upgrade over Ruutu. Scored 7 more points than him last season - 4 more goals, 3 more assists.
