spider29 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 Mark it down somehow Conklin will be the starter for the winter classic, he has started the previous 2 for the oilers, and pens. That game follows him everywhere he goes.
weGotTheCup89 41 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 WOW that $170 per I spent for tickets for Game 5 of the Finals looks like an absolute STEAL with these prices. Good Lord, this is terrible.
zata40 3 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 $291.99 a seat....for UPPER LEVEL!!! What the hell. I was planning on going but if prices are going to be that jacked up, no way. ticketmaster's prices better be much cheaper.

BlakChamber 8 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 Looking at Stub Hub, there's 64 listing for tickets. Say there's an average of 5 tickets per listing, that's only 320 tickets out of 40,000. Isn't it a little early to start freaking out and demanding that the NHL give all the tickets to the Red Wings?

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted July 22, 2008 Oh I don't know, 2008 Stanley Cup Champions? Playoffs last what 15-16 years. 4 Stanley Cups since 97. Cold war MSU vs UM. Chicago hmmm lets see wait I'm sure it will come to me. Well the new owner will let the games be on tv now. It's not always going to be all about the Red Wings like we all want. You know how much time is spent venting on how much attention Syndey Crosby gets, I think it's safe to say that we essentially want the same thing to happen for the Red Wings. More focus, more focus, more focus, FOCUS ON THE RED WINGS as much as possible dang blasted! It doesn't always work that way, and I agree it shouldn't work that way as well with such a giant marketing emphasis on Sydney Crosby and focus on players outside of him and Ovechkin. Well, we can't always get what we want. And, if winning the Stanley Cup was the standard to "deserving" to get the outdoor event, why didn't Anaheim get the event last year (let's assume that an outdoor ice event could realistically happen out there in terms of climate/outdoor temperatures even though it's probably slim-none to begin with). This forum would implode if the outdoor event would've been hosted in Anaheim as there would have been hundreds of vitol-spewed rants about the "MEAN DIRTY DUCKS". Why did Buffalo deserve the event then last year? Why not Pittsburgh? St. Louis? New York/Long Island? Minneapolis-St. Paul? Consider things more than just the hockey teams and how good or bad they might be. Chicago has a better economy than Detroit. Maybe they are just limiting their selections to just professional arena venues. I don't know their exact rhyme and reason in terms of picking the event. While it would definitely be fun to have it at a place like the Big House, we as fans are very spoiled since our team is consistently good year after year, thus some sense of entitlement comes in. I think it's a somewhat accurate guess that people in here might not like the New York Yankees and might say some of their fans act in a similar way for example, being part of a similar franchise that is fairly successful year in and year out. Well, some Wings fans act the same way whether it is justified or not. The Detroit Red Wings and Wings fans are not entitled to everything just because they are usually good or are an Original Six franchise. We can't always have everything we want. At least the Wings are playing in the event. Playing in it, even if it is on the road, is better than nothing.
redwing_sparty 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2008 those prices are bogus. do you really think all those people who went to the game last year paid 250+ ? uh...NO! im sure there will be lots of tickets available for this thing. afterall, its on new years day so tons of people will be staying home to watch football anyways. Opie 308 Report post Posted July 22, 2008 (edited) I'm finding a Chicago rooftop Before you plan on that you should know that last year or the year before, can't remember now, the owners put up a big ass Budweiser sign and other ads to block the views from rooftops! I remember reading about it a while ago, I will look for a link, otherwise I may be on the rooftop next to yours!! Sorry apparently it was all just talk! BUT they charge to sit on the rooftops, 150$ per game for a baseball game, I got to imagine they will charge more for the WC! MississippiWing 14 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 Blackhawks and Cubs season ticket holders will get first pick. Then I believe Detroit gets 5000 tickets out of around 41,000. So I am not sure where these tickets are coming from already. http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2008/07/wi...ckets_expe.html How much were the tickets for the retirement of #19 game? These have to be season ticket holders that are getting the tickets and trying to sell them. These tickets haven't gone on sale yet. I just talked to my uncle who is a blackhawks fan. drumnj 459 Report post Posted August 1, 2008 I know this topic is a little old, but I did talk with a Blackhawks ticket executive via their online chat. Here's the info I got: Name: Justin Web Site: Chicago Blackhawks Department: Tickets Question: With single game tickets becoming available on August 11th, does this include the January 1st game? avardijan: Welcome to our real-time support chat. How can I help you today? Justin: With single game tickets becoming available on August 11th, does this include the January 1st game? avardijan: It does not include that game, we do not know if and/or when those will go on sale to the public Justin: So the Blackhaws have no control of that game's distribution? avardijan: The only control we have is telling our full season ticket holders that they are guaranteed a spot for that game Justin: When do season ticket holders recieve their tickets and would the package include that game? avardijan: We do not know when season ticket holders will have the opportunity to buy those tickets The package doe snot include those games Justin: Alright, that's all the information I needed to know. Thank you for your time avardijan: Sure thing I wouldn't trust anyone selling tickets now, since there is no knowledge of when season ticket holders will get to buy them. hillbillywingsfan 794 Report post Posted August 1, 2008 yeah why should the wings get anything handed to them. they are not one of if not the best hockey teams in the league. and screw being one of the orig 6. that means nothing today. we should let teams like the canes and the wild play in it. more people would watch. im tired of seeing the wings get everything. Jim Rutherford: "The wings always get everything." Peter Laviolette: "Wings Wings Wings!"
