Not only are the seats five million feet away, they're all at weird corner-ice angles where a near-unwatchable angle on the action is guaranteed! Wrigley is a classic stadium that inspires nostalgia like no other stadium left, Detroit and Chicago are classic teams. Chicago is a huge market, Detroit is a fan favorite all over the country. It all makes sense as a great opportunity to show off the NHL on New Years day when plenty of people will be sitting around and able to tune in. Honestly, if people find a reason to complain about this one, then you need more work or school or sex or something. This is the game and venue they should have had from the start. Thats what they do here in UK when a concert is on at our major stadiums. It increases ticket sales, gives better crowd and also means at least SOME people will be able to see the game. Or otherwise not make the game viewable live? Spending several hundred dollars for a ticket when you aren't going to be able to see a damn thing anyway is absolutely ridiculous, 'nostalgia' or not.
