P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) and I loved him... is he seriously naked here? and do they seriously give us a pube shot too? Is that why you loved him? In the first clip he acts like McLennan and Ribeiro. Edited August 6, 2008 by P. Marlowe

P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 wow a *** joke, very clever Thank you. Hextall really was a character, but I'm also glad that there isn't anybody like him in the NHL anymore. I don't like seeing people get hurt and end their careers because someone is crazy. I too think that he was entertaining and the aspect of danger brings another dimension to the game, but violence still isn't really my thing. One more thing conserning my earlier post. It was funny to realise that Jamie McLennan slashing Franzén in 2007 was the last thing he ever did in NHL.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) 3:11 mark of that video he was beating Chelios pretty bad... Cheli had it coming. Hextall was retaliating for Chelios's cheapshot on Propp earlier in the series. Hextall was one of my favorites. 6'3" 205 lbs. He was the same size as Luongo. And that dude really was seriously crazy. Imagine how great he would've been if he was wearing Luongo sized pads? akustyk 84 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 I absolutely love this Kashmir cover which runs in background. I just realized I have a full Led Zeppelin discography which needs to be grabbed to mp3. I've hooked up with hockey too late to remember Hextall clearly but he looks just like this type of player you hate playing against and absolutely love as team spirit guy if he's on your team
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 I never did understand how a guy that emotional could ever compose himself enough to get back in net and be focused enough to be a goalie. Most goalies, even if they were that physically tough, could never have that much focus to shift from one emotion to another like that.
BobRouse03 31 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Being from Philadelphia I absolutely loved Hextall. He did not take anyones guff. He went after players and wasn't afraid to mix it up with anyone. Hextall played with a lot of passion and people around here loved him. Being a RedWings fan I was glad he did not get a Cup in '97, but always wanted him to win one. I doubt he will get one with the Kings organization.

deltsig87 3 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 hex was always one of my favorite goalies back in the day, up there with balfour, potvin, and barrasso. met him at a goalies den camp here in Michigan and seemed like a normal guy but obviously once the pads are on he's no holds barred, kinda like balfour except not so big of a jackass. Imagine how great he would've been if he was wearing Luongo sized pads? Bah! Hextall didn't need huge pads to scare the opposition*. *As you already know. toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted August 7, 2008 skilled goalies... Actually, I think today's goals are more skilled from a pure technical perspective, regardless of the larger equipment. Goalies back in the 80's played a more stand up style and relied more on reflexes. To me, this style was more entertaining, even if no goals were scored, you saw more great saves by goalies that in today's NHL are just ordinary saves because the goalies are more positionally sound.
