OsGOD 3 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 (edited) I am anxiously awaiting the outcome... I am thinking its the T-shirt jersey lol awesome! I got my Drake Rbk Edge jersey at the Joe for $110... all i had to do was remove the front "*** tag" and it looks like the $300 variety... No goofy iron on anything and no name plate... tiff_luvs_homer 5 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 I think the Replica premier jerseys are cheap looking too, even if you buy them from NHL.com... The old CCM replicas were nice, but these Premier jerseys (especially with that cheesy tag on the front) totally look cheesy and the tag screams "I'm a replica!" C-Dub 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2008 I'm assuming you ordered from nhl.com? I have a new Reebok replica that I got Franzen on the back of with the cup patch and all. It's from sportsk.com and everything is sewn on(very well i might add) and of great quality. Yeah well, why dont we have a big fat warning on this web site not to order from there. I figured the NHL shop would give you good jerseys but it seems that is not the case. I am certainly sorely disappointed.
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted August 25, 2008 (edited) While in Toronto a few years ago for a game my wife, & I spent some time in the LeafSport store (just inside the ACC)...I was shocked when I saw the store manager applying leters/numbers onto jerseys via the heat press Now i can understand if they use the heat press for a guide to semi attach the lettering and then stitch it on aroud the outside edges for the finished product because that is fine and normal... but to not stitch but just sell to the public like that at the arena... wow!!! Every store around my neck of the woods here even fully stitches on the youngsters jerseys... infant sizes i am talking about... cute but i think that is a bit much. I think the Replica premier jerseys are cheap looking too, even if you buy them from NHL.com... The old CCM replicas were nice, but these Premier jerseys (especially with that cheesy tag on the front) totally look cheesy and the tag screams "I'm a replica!" I was against the tag in the front and luckily upon inspection at Compuware last season I noticed the tag was cheaply stitched on... came off like a charm. Yes there are some differences between the pro and replica (lighter materal and the slip on the side is more prevalent on the replicas and looks rather tacky... but overall with the removal of the tag on the front, i am happy with it. CCM/Koho's had much more forgiving materal though. You have to be extra carefull not to bump up against anything that may snag these. Might want to get hang nails promptly removed too because those will be devestating lol Edited August 25, 2008 by OsGOD
Spinner 6 Report post Posted August 25, 2008 I look at it this way, Even if it's not a great replica, I would have some red wing paraphanalia to wear when doing stuff around the house where I wouldn't normally want to get the official one dirty. See I could support the wings even when cleaning the dog poop this comment is meant all in fun. I may have to order one now.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted August 25, 2008 Counterfeiting is so huge in China that it is one of the largest industries. Unless you buy it in an American bricks and mortar store, if it's from China it's most likely a fake and poorly made.

Cern 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2008 If I didn't already have a Zata jersey I might be tempted to pick one up just as a personal boycott to those godawful EDGE replicas. Given their cheap feel and the inexcusable use of awful-looking leatherette sew-ons for shoulder logos (despite it being a non-factor for the Wings), 25$ is about as much as I'd be willing to pay for one anyway. What a downgrade from the pre-EDGE CCM replicas for about double the price.
Chelichic 12 Report post Posted August 27, 2008 NHL.com uses iron-onish lettering????? LMFAO!! You all got hosed... Holy crap that is aweful! Any store around here has them fully stitched on (sportsk is the bomb as well as fanaticU) now the trick it so to not get them with the ugly looking name plate on the back... I can't order online becuase i want to be 100% sure there is no nameplate on the jerseys that don't have them on them (aka detroit) Hey thanks for the info. Until I read this I was going to order from NHL.com, but I sure dont want iron-ons. Thanks again.

What a downgrade from the pre-EDGE CCM replicas for about double the price. I haven't kept up with player opinion, so I may be off base with this statement but..... I don't know how the players feel, but as a fan looking at or wearing a jersey the CCM/KOHO (Didn't Det use KOHO in the past or maybe just the replica's were KOHO) were leaps and bounds ahead of these jersey's. I find it interesting that a guy like Modano has a jersey that has got to be two sizes to big for him (based on the fit of these jersey's) in order to get the jersey to tail out behind him. I wouldn't be surprised to see more players switching to bigger sizes for comfort reasons, in the new ones it seems to me (again through a camera lens) that the players adjust their pads and jersey's a lot. Tangent warning!!! In playing Volleyball there were two different sets of Jersey rules,so to speak, for me. On the beach I wore tighter and less clothing (Board shorts no Shirt, not a speedo or anything) to keep sand out of certain areas (which is why the feminist issue around the bikini clad ladies Olympic V-ball team is laughable and made by people who have never played beach ball) but indoors loose clothing and a jersey is a big help because you don't get floor burns and it is more comfortable. But that was all preference, for the league to come out and say everyone has to wear a tight fitting Jersey, I would think some guys (like in every other sport) may like looser fitting uni's. s*** look at Manny Ramirez's loose fitting rags as opposed to a guy like Johan Santana or others who prefer a tighter fit, a lot of that probably has to do with range of movement and what not, but these Edge Jersey's look like crap, and really don't look comfortable at all to play in! Correct, I believe CCM was for the White Jerseys and KOHO was on the Red ones... replicas were the exact same sponsors as the pro ones except they were lacking the thicker material, extra elbow reinforcement and the much loved fight strap. Hey thanks for the info. Until I read this I was going to order from NHL.com, but I sure dont want iron-ons. Thanks again. You are from AA... head on over the Garden City and check out Fanatic U... Ford Road between Merriman and Middlebelt... they do great work and the jerseys look amazing. Do NOT buy from NHL.com when you live so close to a real store that kicks out much better quality at a lower price. Edited August 27, 2008 by OsGOD

I'm sure that the authentic EDGE jerseys are much better quality, but there's no way I'd get one for the price they go for, especially when you can get a fine-quality CCM replica for double-digit prices now. pavyaz19 1 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 theman19... did you order your jersey yet? maybe that's a dumb question... did you receive your authentic, completely legit, and amazing chinese jersey in the mail yet? if so, and you love it, I'll order one too. theman19 47 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 well, here's the story so far. i ordered it,....no confirmation number. Got a little worried. Checked my order, it said it had been processed,....breathed a little better. Came to the site shortly after and it was like i never existed,.......really started to panic. Evidently i had misspelled my email and now i was really screwed, or so i thought. So i called tech support for these guys, spoke with a very helpful (albeit very poor speaker) guy who reset my user name, updated my account info and get my up and running again. I elected to use air mail (it was the cheapest) so i don't have a window of when it will be here but the guys at tech support said between a week to two weeks and i should have it. One thing i noticed as i went over the language of the site is that it says you can get the number 40 on your jersey. It says nothing about it saying "zetterberg" as well. I'm about 90% i'm going to get a jersey with a number but no name. I took a look at some other stuff they offer, they have a crosby jersey from the winter classic this year for the same price, and it looks completly offical. Like straight from the factory, so will see. I'll keep everyone updated.
pavyaz19 1 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 this is getting exciting. i like the added drama of a misspelled e-mail. i wouldn't be surprised if there was no name on the jersey, I figured they would have advertised "Zetterberg" like crazy if his name were actually on it. either way, there's still a shot this could be the deal of a lifetime. haha. i can't wait to hear what you receive in the mail. soultrain 43 Report post Posted September 2, 2008 just put in my order. i paid more for the shipping. if i get hosed for fifty bucks, i will chalk it up to a lesson learned. i did get an email right after i paid for it. i looked up some info. everyone seemed real sketch about it but it all checked out...so wish me luck! tiff_luvs_homer 5 Report post Posted September 6, 2008 (edited) Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I found it to be interesting and informative. We bought a Cutler "Authentic" Broncos jersey on eBay a year ago for about $30 and it's actually pretty nice... I guess it just kind of depends who you buy these jerseys from. Sometimes the color or stitching is off... you just have to know your jerseys. I can spot a fake right away. I guess it's because after buying $300 Avalanche edge jersey and I know what a real jersey should look and feel like as far as fabric and quality... Here are some photos of 3 jerseys I bought off ebay (the Datsyuk and Cutler jerseys) and then the Zetterberg jersey was bought off another site from China. If you look closely at the two red wings jerseys in person there are subtle differences which let you know that they're not real... even though they're not bad jerseys they still are not Rbk. But if you're on a tight budget, $50 for a decent jersey isn't too bad. Look closely and the two tags and NHL emblems, notice size and color variances. Cern 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2008 I gotta concur with Tiff, actually. I obviously can't speak for every chinese bootleg jersey out there but there's a guy here in Van who does replica jerseys off of eBay. Of course they're all Canucks jerseys but for the money they actually look pretty darn good, at a casual look they don't look any different from a CCM replica. HomeNugget 2 Report post Posted September 8, 2008 I work with a guy who knows a guy who claims to be able to get any jersey for any of the four major sports with the name and number of any current player and sells them for $50-$100. I heard he gets them from China. The guy I work with showed me an Adrian Peterson jersey he got that looks pretty authentic. I requested a Kronwall jersey. If this guy comes through with it I'll be impressed.
