Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 Number of wins by the Lions or the number of 5+ game win streaks by the Red Wings. Personally, I feel the Lions will win 7 games and I think the Wings will have 8, 5+ game win streaks.
#19=Legend 29 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 The Lions should be sold to Illitch. They might be able to turn around. Anyways, I say the Wings have more.

If anything Illitch will just take money from the Lions to put into the Wings.
stormboy 47 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 eight five-game win streaks is very possible, imo. the question is, would a ten-game win streak count as two five-game win streaks? that might affect the statistics. i don't watch a lot of football, but from what little i've seen/read, seven wins seems like the max for this years' lions. T.Low 1,011 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 I'm sick and tired of the lions not getting the respect and credit they deserve. Its not easy not winning a championship for 50 years. It takes a lot of effort. You've got to be disciplined to be that mediocore. Lets face it, even the Bears screwed up and had a great season in 84. Yeah yeah, everyone braggs about the WIngs and their namby pamby 17 consecutive years of playoffs. Hay, we're talking 50 years her! Most of you kids weren't even a sparkle in mom's eye the last time the Lions won a championship. The Ford family should be commended for their unwavering committment to mediocrity. I say 7 wins. seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 The Wings will only have one 5 game win streak. It will last 98 games, but it will only be one streak. So, advantage Lions on this one.

What do you mean "what about the Tigers"? They are not a bad team. They used to be a few years back, but they arent bad. The Loins are bad, and thats an understatement. I guess I dont know what you are saying by that. Edited August 24, 2008 by #19=Legend

Chunkylover 26 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 The fact thats its already been played is still not their biggest challenge in winning the 2008 Super Bowl. They're more likely to win the 2008 Super Bowl than they are the 2009 Super Bowl.
HadThomasVokounOnFortSt 878 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 The Wings by far. The Lions will win the super bowl sometime coming up. They have to many weak spots to go to the super bowl.

weGotTheCup89 41 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 I'll give this one to the wings. I think that the wings will be able to win more games than the Lions have 5+ game win streaks this year.
Barrie 900 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 Call me crazy, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Lions win 8 games this year.
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 I'm saying it first in this thread... Lions 2009 Superbowl winners! You're also the last. And the Lions will end the season with 8 wins. Johnson will break out this year. I don't know if the Wings will have more than 8 five game winning streaks. Thats 40 points in itself, but who knows. I've never paid attention to how many five+ game win streaks the Wings have in a season.

Calvin Johnson. 81 will shine and not just with the Wings.
Spinner 6 Report post Posted August 25, 2008 The Wings could win the 2009 Superbowl...that's just how dang good they are. I think you folks arent giving Marinelli a fair shake tho. He's turning this team around. I just turned 50 and the Lions haven't won a championship in my lifetime so I sense one on the horizon.
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted August 25, 2008 I think the Lions have the better chance here. I think it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that the Wings put together 8+ streaks of 5 or more wins. (I'm just using the original poster's numbers here, as it is probably a long shot that the Lions win 7 games too). Think about it for a few minutes....it would be pretty difficult to put together 8 streaks like this, you'd almost have to win 5 in a row....then have a loss, etc. If you put together a streak of 8 or 9 wins in a row, you are really hurting your chances. You'd almost have to have all of your wins come in 5 game winning streaks. The Wings are good for about 50 wins or so, but with 8 streaks * 5 = 40 wins, that doesn't leave much room for wins coming outside of a a streak, or streaks of more than 5 wins each. To compare, I believe they had about 4 streaks last year of 5 or more wins.
