Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted September 29, 2008 Wow... this is a huge blow to the Pens. I don't really see a "Malkin" type equivalent player to step up ala- the great Crosby injury of 2008.
12Newf 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2008 wow....no gonchar and no whitney should hurt their PP a bit but that will be the least of their worries. should be interesting to see how the team responds when their top 2 defensemen are out.
miller76 463 Report post Posted September 29, 2008 I think this is a definite blow to their team. s*** happens though! Nobody was feeling sorry for the Wings last February when the team was banged up and and couldn't buy a win!
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted September 29, 2008 oh, my... that's too bad, I liked watching him play. Hate to see any player get hurt like that, best wishes to Sergei for a speedy recovery.
FunkedUp 29 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 The Penguins are in big trouble now, and will likely not come out of the gate very fast.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Pittsburgh better be the best team in the NHL during the second half of the season, because if not, they wont be making the playoffs.

Cern 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Pittsburgh better be the best team in the NHL during the second half of the season, because if not, they wont be making the playoffs. Not a night goes by this season where I won't be praying for that scenario. I'd rather see yet another deep-south franchise SC win than to see Crosby lift the cup. stevie for president 42 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 i remember a couple seasons ago kronwall got injured vs the avs in a preseason game and i was pissed. i could only imagine how pens fans feel because gonchar is a lot more important to that team than kronwall was to detroit.
