Wings vs Caps in the finals this year. No worries, I'm prepared to knock on all the wood needed. everyone claims the Habs as the Eastern champs. I think they are wrong. The Caps are gona go the distance in the east this year. Tey've had sooo much young talent play in the post season this past season, obviously they've learned a lot. If Theodore can play like he did in round one this past season for all the playoffs, look out.

PS: This is just my opinion!!!! Don't kill me because of it!!!

the caps would have to overachieve hardcore.

Theodore chokes.

Caps are very young and inexperienced.

Well Montreal seems to be everyones sweetheart this year in the east. The young guns in Washington leanred s*** loads alreadt this past season. I think they have what it takes. They have the scoring all around now, players like Backstrom and Green are gonna be amazing for them this year. It all comes down to Theo. If he can hold his own, the Caps are dangerous.

I mean, who else is there in the east anyway? The Pens arent what they were anymore. The Habs have a shot for sure, but who knows. I think the Caps have what it takes to suprise many this year, and I'm gonna root my ass off for them all the way to the finals hopefully. The east always seems to be up for grabs. Montreal is just as if not younger than the Caps. And like I said, thay've gotten all the experience they need last playoffs. They know what it takes to win a series now, and they will probably be dangerous.

And if he plays like he did in the 2nd round, sick or not....goodnight.

But seriously, I'd love to see the Caps improve on last season. Much more than a team like Atlanta or Nashville.

I really want the Wings to beat a Canadian team (preferably Montreal)....

ME TOO!!!! I live in Montreal and I recieve Wing bashing on a daily basis. This year the wing bashing has started early because Montreal has a decent team and the fact that they won both preseason games.

But fear not Wing fans our team makes it very easy to defend them.

Can't really argue with Montreal... they are almost as stacked as we are. I really think Tampa Bay could surprise people if the chemistry is there and players play to their potential. Granted they are old, but I mean having Recchi and Roberts on a 4th line is still a damn good 4th line. Their D is almost underrrated too. It's really on the goalies to see how they turn out I suppose.

I would love to see Wings - Habs final,, but then we have to take Lang out, and fast. Wings - Caps would be great also, teach Ovechkin a lesson (he is not a whiner, so he should actually learn a thing or two) , and remind to Fedorov which team is the best in the league.

Oh yeah?! Well, :punch: :guns::boxing: :battle:

I can totally see where OP is coming from. Seams every other year there is one team in the Cup Finals that is a young, fast, crazy ass team just ridin high on enthusiasm and hustle. Edmonton, Calgary, and Tampa come to mind. I could easily see WaCaps in the finals. Thats a good call. Bold, but a good call.

Yeah, I'd like to see DetroyIt (using best Torontonian accent like Grapes) or Montreal.

Actually I think it's Florida's turn in the rotation to represent the Southeast Division.

It would be hilarious if Detroit was to beat Montreal in the Final because there is so much hype about them and the implosion after a defeat at the hands of the Evil Empire would be tremendous.

Were Toronto to make it the collapse would be even greater. Too bad it couldn't have happened in '02.

Rangers, Pens, Devils, and Flyers would be good match-ups but I only see Pitts and Philly as threats in that division.

As for Washington, I think it would be an exciting series from a Wings standpoint (probably a sweep via four shutouts), but there would be lethal levels of buttsharking by the media all over Ovechkin.
