rdwngnut 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 (edited) Ok, I am really confused. I thought the game started at 8pm. When I got my season tickets there was a note saying this game was changed to 7pm (unless I misread it). I just emailed my customer rep and she is telling me the game starts at 8pm and the ceremony is at 7pm. And it is listed on the website as starting at 7pm (game) Does anyone know anything?? I hate to be too early or late!! Edited October 6, 2008 by rdwngnut
hockeytown9321 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 It has been quite confusing. Based on my phone calls the Red Wings, and the fact the VS. starts its pregame coverage at 6:30, I'm confident of a 7:00 game time, with the ceremony starting around 6:45. I'd err on the side of caution here. At worst, you'll sit in a mostly empty rink for an hour. There are worse things.

As far as VS they might carry the banner raising, they might have a preview of the season. I'm not sure what to tell you there.
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 NHL.com lists it as a 7:00pm start-time. http://www2.nhl.com/ice/scores.htm?date=10%2F09%2F2008

marcaractac 3,963 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 I checked the schedule on CBC (I live in Canada) and it lists it as being on from 7:00PM-9:30PM. That would cover the game, so I don't think CBC is gonna air the banner being raised, which would REALLY piss me off. If it was A canadian team that won the cup there would probably be some 3 hour show before the game recapping the cup run and everything. But nope, it's only Detroit... 19Hockeytown5 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 My ticket says 8est, but I'm going to use caution and assume it starts at 7est based off of this thread. I guess I will leave saginaw at 4est so I can get there by 6est and grab something to eat. I would be ticked if I missed the banner raise.

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted October 7, 2008 I just flipped on VS for a sec and a blurb said NHL coverage opens on Thursday starting at 6:30 ET/5:30 CT. Whether that means they start Cup ceremony coverage at 6:30/5:30 or pre-game studio stuff, I don't know, but if you are out of the Detroit or Michigan area this should tell you when to tune in your TV/VCR/DVR. At least it tells me that because I'm going on vacation for a few days and am departing on Thursday.
