People should earn the right to have their name on the back of a jersey. Last week I saw someone with their name and #19 on the back. To each their own, but that's not right. I know over here in sweden thats what everyone do and im like, "wtf you aint playing in the team " Only time I've really seen that in a long while has been more for ceremonial presentation than anything else, like when Obama and Biden were given Wings jerseys with 08 numbering a little while ago. Them premier ones seem pretty decent though and they are only like $150. Don't, they feel inexcusably cheaply made. Look around for a pre-EDGE CCM replica, they're much better quality and they're quite a bit cheaper now, and they're obviously the same design anyway. Instead of #19 people should start wearing #5 and realise how good he's been for this club, no disrespect to yzerman but lidstrom is now, yzerman was before or is it just to show everyone "hey dudes, im oldschool, look at me" It's Steve Yzerman for f*** sake. Maybe this'll be Kopecky's break-out year thatd be awesome, but who would really need a motivating factor to play harder/better when youre already in the NHL? i just hope Kopecky can stay healthy and chip in some goals. The only wings jersey i own is an Yzerman jersey. I have one thing hanging on my wall in my room, and that is a picture of Yzerman. Yzerman will always be my favorite wing ever. Yzerman came in and turned this franchise around with other key peices. If the Wings had not drafted him we definetly wouldnt have won in the 90's IMO. Idk how else to put it, its Yzerman. Best thing would be to buy a jersey without name or numbers cause then you can keep it forever You can also keep an Yzerman jersey forever. Its because as kids, my buddies would come over and we would play the old sega nhl game and create us as the superstars on the wings, and that was my name and #. The nickname dynamite just stuck with me. And the jersey was a gift from one of those buddies. Its not like I went out and purchased it myself or anything. But it is funny, when I wore it to a game in the WCF last year I had several people want to take a pictures of it. I guess they never saw a # 69 jersey before. Only thing that sucks about having the best team in the NHL to root for is Versus. Thats right i spent all this money on hd and hockey package and can't get the game in hd due to a golf program.
