I desperately want to watch this, but my older sister is in the hospital and tonight I am going to be spending all night celebrating my little sister's birthday there...is this going to be uploaded anywhere? Can I watch the game after it's done anywhere online?

It's time again. I am so excited and pumped to see that banner go up to the rafters tonight. It will be nice for Toronto to actually see what a championship ceremony looks like too. It was such a quick off-season, I can't believe the real deal is starting already.

Red Wings: 4 (Hudler, Lidstrom, Sammy, and Z)

Maple Leafs: 1 (Antropov)

Happy Birthday to Z and Go Red Wings! :champs:

Wings 6 - Leafs 1

Franzen (2), Zetts, Dats, Hudler, and Lidstrom with the goals.

Luke Schenn minus 4 in his NHL debut and gets pushed around the crease by the Mule.

Hossa-Datsyuk-Holmstrom

Hudler-Zetterberg-Franzen

Man, don't those first two lines just take your breath away! Wow!

And how about the opposing goalies... They think they'll get some relief seeing Homer skate to the bench, and then they'll see Franzen stepping on the ice!!!

The Leafs have three 3rd lines and a 4th line.

Yeah i guess. He played mostly on second line last year huh? I thought he was a sure bet second liner and maybe even a first liner this year (leafs roster)

I would say yes, Versus' coverage begins at 7:00 p.m.

The Detroit Red Wings' public relations department provides a well-timed note to those of you who tend to arrive at games during the first period--that's a very, very, very bad idea if you're attending Thursday's banner-raising season-opener vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs:

October 8, Detroit Red Wings: Fans Reminded to Arrive Early For Opening Night

Doors Open At 5PM, Pre-Game Ceremony At 7PM

Detroit, MI... The Detroit Red Wings remind fans to arrive early this Thursday, October 9th for the Red Wings' home opener versus the Toronto Maple Leafs at Joe Louis Arena. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and fans are asked to be in their seats promptly by 7:00 p.m. for the special on-ice Opening Night presentation and Stanley Cup Champion banner raising.

versus showed the ducks last year, and the game is not on fsn detroit so I assume for the people in the detroit area who cant get tickets they will show the banner going up. Also the wings win 5-0 I say Hossa gets it started early and finishes with a nice hattrick

I have a HUGE dilema. Tonight is a date auction where I'm suppose to be auctioned off to around 300 sorority girls...do I do that and help raise money for charity and get a date with a smoking hottie...or watch the first game of the Wing's season? I'm leaning towards the Wing's game actually haha.

wings games don't have STDs.

leafs 3-2. <_< then the wings go 81-1-0. :yowza:
