40#1Fan 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2008/10/so...aseks_thir.html (from an interview on how Hasek is doing with retirement) Kulfan also reveals that the Wings will head to the White House on Tuesday: Hasek will visit his son Michael, who is attending Michigan State, this weekend. Hasek will travel to Carolina Sunday, be with the Wings Monday when they play the Hurricanes, then travel with the Wings to the White House for Tuesday's ceremony with President Bush. "It was nice to be here once more and feel the excitement," Hasek said. "Just with different clothes."

Drimo 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 ugh. I was hoping they'd get to meet Obama in January Yeah me too. But I think they can all put the politics aside for this one.
timothy1997 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 ugh. I was hoping they'd get to meet Obama in January Only other date that would work is Jan 30th when the wings play a home game on the 29th and a road game against the Capitals on the 31st. If elected, Obama would have enough on his agenda that first week of being President anyway.
Guest mindfly Report post Posted October 10, 2008 Stop this praise for last years success, this is a new season, they can't focus on raising banners, meeting presidents, they should play HOCKEY! *grrr*
akustyk 84 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 Stop this praise for last years success, this is a new season, they can't focus on raising banners, meeting presidents, they should play HOCKEY! *grrr* oh my... did you by chance took a look into calendar and saw it's October, 10? there's a lot of hockey to be played this season yet. there's no reason to gripe about Wings not playing right now

Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted October 10, 2008 I actually prefer they do it now and get it over with. Put last year behind them as quickly as possible. Anaheim waited till around the trade deadline to visit last year. This is much better.
Scotty 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2008 How many times have the Wings gone to see President Bush anyway?

YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted October 11, 2008 f*** that s***. They should have their feet cemented to their skates after that performance last night. Last thing this team needs is more disruptions from forming some god damn line chemistry.

asmith18 3 Report post Posted October 11, 2008 That'll be good to get the white house visit over and done with. I thought they would have done it sooner actually. I am extremely happy they won the cup, but its a new season now, they gotta defend their championship!

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted October 11, 2008 (edited) Should have waited. At least Palin knows what a puck looks like. Sorry, had to get that in (not a McCain supporter- Ron Paul all the way). It's just not often we get someone in politics who likes hockey. Seriously, it's nice they get the honours. They had to work hard for them. Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted October 11, 2008 This will be the second Bush-Wings Cup visit. Maybe the Wings can give Washington some tips on teamwork, strategy, recruiting the best... I'm serious. The Red Wings as an organization really demonstrates leadership and management... the whole ball of wax.
