VICTORY!! :siren:

Gorgeous goals from both Datsyuk and Zetterberg.

Wings improve to 7-1-1

EDIT: Ozzie was wonderful, as well.

Tense game. Knew we'd have the shootout, though. Ozzie's usually solid when he's not over-relying on a teammate to get the defensive job done. And our shootout lineup is disgusting.

Here's to hoping this is the beginning of a road series s...word.

A lot of penalties again tonight, D looked sleepy, and we won in a shoot out again... Wow...

Hope the guys shake the rust off by Thursday night...

Win is a win though...

At this point I don't think it matters. The defense will come around but with the way the Wings are playing offensively and how they can control the play and turn it on at any time there's no team close to the Wings.

This has to be the worst 7-1 team I've ever seen.

I hate that expression. 7-1-1 is 7-1-1. It's not like they've been winning on fluke goals from their own blueline or something every game. They've been earning these wins, just maybe not like we as fans are accustomed to.

I was pretty pleased with this game. The Wings deserved an easier night for all the chances they had, but took the extra point in the shootout. They played a pretty good defensive game tonight and were much more physical than they've been. If I had seen more efforts like this before tonight, I wouldn't be harping on how badly they've been playing defensively.

To have three forwards like Hossa, Datsyuk and Zetterberg is crazy. These guys are all in the primes of their careers.

Glad we got the W!!

I've been keeping up this tradition of mine for as long as I can remember to always wear dark colored shirts when the wings play at home and light colors for when they're away. Today I accidentally wore a black shirt and noticed it with only 5 minutes left. At first I thought we'd lose so I wasn't going to change but luckily a commercial break came by so I decided to change to a different shirt and whattya know :D

What the Wings have done here is pretty remarkable. They've yet to play a complete game, but they have won 7 of 9 with points in 8 of them. They can't keep going like this forever, but it's staggering that they can turn it on for five minutes and escape with two points. It's frustrating and troubling at times, but you've got to admit that it's pretty damn fun. There are certainly concerns, but two points on the road is two points on the road and it was very, very exciting.

Two wins in two games (and two shoot-outs) to start the road trip. The Wings aren't making it easy and there are kinks to work out, but I'll take it.

I'm telling you BM with the Wings ability to turn it on and dominate the play like they are while not having Franzen or the defense like it was mid-season last year it's pretty scary for the rest of the league. 7-1-1 and 5 straight wins with Hossa and Datsyuk clicking and Z controlling whenever he has the puck. Yikes.

Gauthier (SP?) not only had the boards, but had a guy along the boards to pass to.

What makes a guy clear it up the middle in that situation? The relentless pressure the Wings were pouring on in the final minutes. It had been building all thru the 3rd and someone finally s*** themselves and through it up the middle to Filp for a game breaker.
