manellis 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Wish Hossa would have taken that shot he had at the end of the period instead of passing to Hank. Hank had a tough angle on that one.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 I don't know if it's been brought up or not, but the Kings and Fox Sports West have what has to be the worst camera positions I've even seen in all my years of watching hockey. Seriously. they're like the alternate camera angles most networks have. Behind the net. Low along center ice boards. Could they only afford three cameras or something? Doc Holiday 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 You would think in a place like LA they would take extra care of their ice. Guess not... Detroit needs to do better than that. I like the physical effort they are putting but I WANT A LEAD!
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Talk about the grind line all you want, but it is grindless. Its really a brutal 4th line - not much energy, not much physicality, just not much of anything. The Wings desperately need a sparkplug in the bottom 6 - Mac and Kopecky arent gonna pull it off. Well with that ice, I would question whether or not they even have a zamboni, let alone a decent set of cameras..

Seriously. they're like the alternate camera angles most networks have. Behind the net. Low along center ice boards. Could they only afford three cameras or something? I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but I know the Ducks were trying out some "ice view" technique or something and it failed miserably. It was supposed to put the viewer on the ice, show the speed of the game, etc. etc. But it really just turned into a brutal way to watch a hockey game. Also, the Kings color guy is the most obnoxious commentator of all-time.

manellis 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Anyone with a FSDetroit feed? I just can't deal with this Rink-Side view. Tried yahoo but its blacked out. For the FSDetroit feed, go to hockeystreams.com. Its supposed to be a pay site, but you can actually still watch the game. Register a basic account, log in. Then, click on the wings feed on the left, you will get a screen like the following, click the circled link to watch the game:
Anomalously 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Yeah, as I've mentioned, the camera angles are bruuuuuuuuuuuutal. But that's the HD feed for me, so I'm watching it. I've got the Detroit feed, too, with better angles, but it's SD.

YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Helm/Abdekader (sp.)/Draper Kopie and Malts are useless At this point, I dont really see how Draper is any better. Hes a faceoff specialist at this point and thats about it. He, Maltby, Mac, and Kopay are practically all on the same level in my eyes. Cleary, Hank, Datsyuk, Hossa, Flip, and Franzen can all run the PK as good or better than him at this point. Drapes has lost a lot of fire and what looks like any offensive ability he ever had. Its a worn out line at this point that would be likely to combine for goals in the double digits this season. It needs a makeover desperately. I really think after 4 Stanley Cups, they aren't going to be able to find the drive for a fifth at their respective ages/stages of their career. I know its early, but I hope by the time Februrary comes around that the Wings will have cut some of the fat off this team and added at least one sparkplug to the bottom line that hits and brings energy any and every night. Mac isnt that guy anymore and Kopay never was.
