Guest Crymson Report post Posted November 14, 2008 (edited) Dismal goaltending by Ozzie. Bad call, but you know we'll always have those go against us. Edited November 14, 2008 by Crymson

sergei_is_still_a_wing 1 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 saw that coming. but the net was both not flush with the ice AND he kicked it in. just once i'd like to see the wings win 10-2 just so i know they can. or get blown out 10-2 for that matter. they need to wake up. puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 that would never have stood if a Wing had kicked that in. Me = homer, I know, I know.

Doc Holiday 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 Dismal goaltending by Ozzie. Bad call, but you know we'll always have those go against us. What do you expect when a guy is allowed right in the crease? Come on.
Uncle Danny 155 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 I don't get that call, it was clearly kicked in. But I won't whine too much since it was going in regardless. They earned the goal.
Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 OH and they think it was in before he kicked it? Wow.

Matt 1,049 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 It never ceases to amaze me how incompetent NHL refereeing can get. It's clearly a kicking motion, clearly hasn't cleared the goalline... yet it's a goal? You can't claim inconclusive evidence here... If the top goalline cam didn't give you a clear indication of a kicking motion, the one from the top of the glass directly behind the net DOES. Absolutely pathetic. BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 They made the right call, I think. The puck went off the skate, but I don't think you can conclusively say it was a kicking motion from watching the replay. Osgood needs to come up big here.
Doggy 130 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 I don't wanna harp on it and I don't wanna sound like a homer but come on... The puck wasn't over the line, that was clear. It was kicked in by a skate with a clear motion to put it over. That wasn't even ambiguous. I don't get it. How could that possibly have been called a goal? Guest DetroitBoy313 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 NHL = Inconsistency... The Detroit Red Wings = Inconsistency. When will the Wings win another game by 2 goals without it being a open netter???
glasgowcelticwing 18 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 missed their 3rd goal but saw the replay and it was definetly kicked in. this is getting beyond a joke with the sloppy calls.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted November 14, 2008 (edited) HAHAHAH On the Tampa broadcast you can hear the Wings fans in the background, VERY loud, with the "LETS GO RED WINGS" chant. Nice. Edit: This is while they were talking while they were getting ready to fade out for the TV timeout. Edited November 14, 2008 by Shoreline
FinRedWing 172 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 Let it be known that I strongly disagree with that decision. No s***. I'm having serious Hemsky's soccer kick/06 playoffs flashbacks.
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 "let's go, Red Wings!!" Love the fan chant... at Tampa Bay! We need an insurance goal. At the risk of repeating myself. It worked before, hey.

Guest Crymson Report post Posted November 14, 2008 Well, that call doesn't really break me up---it was going to go in anyway, and I suspect that colored the call that Toronto made.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 They made the right call, I think. The puck went off the skate, but I don't think you can conclusively say it was a kicking motion from watching the replay. He was virtually standing still, so it wasn't like he brought it in on his foot while he was skating. He clearly juts his foot out at the puck.

The puck went off the skate, but I don't think you can conclusively say it was a kicking motion from watching the replay. Osgood needs to come up big here. It looked like a kick, but I like the call just because of the fact that it was going to be a goal anyway. We've been given enough already.
