But i just think some of our vets are thinking too much instead of just playing the game and i think some of our players get tired too fast..like huds give away he was dead tired.. i think we need more youth what do you guys think? Opie 308 Report post Posted November 25, 2008 You say the team needs more youth, but the tired player you refer to is one of the "Youth"? Not sure I get the point of the question, more youth to replace the the non tired veterans to make the tired youth not tired? My brain hurts!
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted November 25, 2008 No. This thread wouldn't even exist had the Red Wings won 2-1 last night.
The Secret 304 Report post Posted November 25, 2008 Playing a full 60 minutes is what needs to happen on a consistent basis. Replacing some of the non-producing components will be ideal for next year but this years team has all it needs if it would play Red Wing hockey more consistently. Thats what I think anyway. The Mule 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2008 Considering there's only 82 games in a season, you're right, we won't go 84-0.

T.Low 1,011 Report post Posted November 25, 2008 Considering there's only 82 games in a season, you're right, we won't go 84-0. I agree, Huds is getting old and needs to retire before Chelios does. This loyalty thing can drag on way too far! 2 regulation losses at the 20 game mark is great.

Opie 308 Report post Posted November 25, 2008 Everyone's gotta be a dick and post some smart ass remark.. what a surprise Because your post added what? Listen don't complain about others posts and then post nothing but a gripe. Because it is not like you were posting any thing into the conversation except a post complaining about people! But, uh, back to the lecture at hand Perfection is perfected, so Im a let em understand From a young gs perspective Oh sorry about that, little snoop on the Brain! Is the OP planning on answering any of the points people brought up or was this his version of ding-dong-ditch, only it is post-piss off-ditch, or is that puff puff pass, any way you get the point where is th OP to defend his youth position even though it was youth he stated was tired, and the fact he/she has a vague idea of how log the season is? YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted November 25, 2008 If anything, I think we need to add a cagey vet whos been deprived of a cup. Theres a reason Dallas Drake was the first guy Lidstrom handed the cup to..
SDavis35 140 Report post Posted November 25, 2008 We don't need more youth, we just need a more consistent effort. Our shots against has gone up from 23.5 to 28.4, it's not at the level of defence the Wings pulled off last year. That's the only issue I have this year. 14-2-4; tied for 2nd is just fine! We had maybe 3 more points at this point last year.

This team isn't too old or slow or soft like the popular taglines might suggest for Red Wings teams of recent memory. Since Babcock got hired has head coach, the team has turned away from just winning by talent alone and using a combination of both that all with constant skating, hard work, and grinding type play, regardless of age. The team is fine.

We need some hungry vets ready to take anyones head of for the Cup. We dont have one anymore.
